I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Squats: 5x40/60/80/100/120/130/120/100kg, 10x80/60kg
BP: 80kg 5x5
PC: 60kg 5x5
BBR: 0
Dips: +10kg 15/11/9
AWR: 0
BW: 196lb / 89.09kg

Missed Monday and Wednesday this week and was rushed for time today so I threw a top-heavy pyramid together. Happy to have pushed out 5x130 at the top. Felt strong.
BP: No spotter, no problem. Nice to push right through this on the first attempt.
PC: Felt great.
Dips: Wanted 15/12/10 but it just wasn't there.
BW: Getting heavier.

Missed my assistance work and AWR today. Will have to pick it up tomorrow. Got a big deadline on Monday so not sure about w/out on the w/end.

@Mouse: Thanks, pal. It was great fun harvesting grapes. We picked 1300kg over two days.
@Guru: Yeah I think the assistance stuff is really helpful. It does lengthen the workout, though, especially now that the weights are getting back up to my previous numbers.
@H: Thanks, H. You know how tough those AWRs can be, huh?
@Mack: MACK! :D Great to see you back, pal! I thought I heard some cheeky-chops! Looking forward to catching up on your blog.
@Steve: Thanks, man. But my BW keeps creeping up! It's like Xeno's paradox...
@Saukkis: Good! Nothing like a little anger/respect to power a lifter through his workout ;)
@GKW: Thanks for the props, pal. Don't neglect H's squat power, though. He's cleared 140kg for 5x5 while my record is only 135. I'm keeping his accomplishments in mind as I try to improve.

Back to those scary Kibamids?!, "forget" about the weight of the sets, the number of reps are just B-I-G,
Also, cool numbers on the Dips. Overall you kept last time's reps, so that's good.

Lol, just when I felt all smug after today's workout I check your log and my eyes pop out (and cry, too). Should have known!

Mental squats, also very impressed with the dips - add more weight? - and the fact that you do such heavy BP and PC for 5x5. Daimn, bwoy!

Wed. Oct. 21/09

Squats: 130kg 3/3/3/3/3
OHP: 57.5kg 3/2/2/2/1
47.5kg 3x5
DL: 140kg 3x5, 120kg 1x5
Chins: 11/8/8
CR: 260lb 5x10
AWR: 193cm 3x10
BW: 194lb / 88.18kg

Two nights of very little sleep after five days away from the gym. This was a slog.
Squats: Hard work. Glad to get these.
OHP: Ugh. Here we go again.
DL: Decided to go for volume instead of trying the 160kg again. Exhausting.
Chins: Managed to get one more in the first set for the first time.

@Mack: Thanks, pal. It's great to have you back in the forum. I'm not in the wine biz, but I'm taking a Sommelier course, hence the interest.
@Amaeland: :D I'm glad to be getting back up to my previous numbers after long de-loads. I really want to make some new PRs on the BP and OHP. It's going to take a while, I think.
@Bflo: Not sure. I'm just trying to eat enough to improve the lifts into new territory. I'm approaching 200lb again, and if I get there slowly then I don't mind, but it really makes the dips, chins and pulls harder. Last time I hit 200 I looked a bit puffy around the face and didn't like it, so I've got to stay lean.

Squats: 130kg 5x5
BP: 82.5kg 5x5, assitance: 72.5kg 3x5
PC: 65kg 5x5
BBR: Forgot!
Dips: +12.5kg 15/10/7
AWR: 193cm 3x10
BW: 195lb / 88.45kg

Last day at this gym before it closes for two weeks and the new one opens a couple of blocks away. We shot some video which I will try to include here.

Squats: I was only planning to do 3x5 today but decided to go for it after the first three sets went very well. The last time I cleared this weight was Feb 23, almost exactly 8 months ago. Nice to be back.
BP: No problem pushing through these today. Very happy. Last time I cleared this weight was Mar 23. I really want to clear 90kg for 5x5 at least. I never quite cleared 57.5 last time I was in this territory (got 5/5/5/5/4).
PC: Okay, these are starting to get heavy. Hell of a workout.
BBR: Can't believe it! Just completely forgot!
Dips: Shot some video of these and I don't like what I see. My feet are too far back and I'm not going as deep as I thought. I think I'll take the weight off and start again, going deeper. I need to read up on these a little, since my shoulders and elbows tell me I'm going "deep enough" but the video doesn't lie.
AWR: Nice to see the video of these. Will definitely post it.

Hey KIB, another nice workout. Good to see the videos. Good squatting except probably the depth, which from this angle seems just parallel. Bench looked pretty easy & I liked the set up most. Beautiful arch there.

You're still utilising the slope for AWRs, right? Does the new gym have any such advantage?

Personal observation:
you are just not breaking parallel on those squats. It's by a hair but from what I see it is not.

BTW awesome roll-outs and they look easy too, will be a while before I can do that.

A little lonely last night Kib-san... :P

Great videos, agree with Guru...good arch on the bench.

Are you really one of those high bar Squatters...(oh the shame of it all)

Nice vids Kib! Bench seemed more like a stroll on the beach, :) I have the bar at the height on the squat, but you do not seem to have any trouble keeping it in place, are you using velcro?,
The course you are taken must be interesting. Is it here in town with field trips?

Hey KIB. Thanks for posting the vids dude, always like to watch other peoples progress as well as read about it. I think the comments about depth are correct, but the reason could also be that when you get to heavy weight, it's the thought of going so low that you might not get back up again that causes that. Mind you, that's still 25kg more than I've ever squatted so it is all theory!
