You know, Mehdi, I came so close to telling him. But he had his earphones in and the kind of no-eye-contact body language that said "leave me alone", so I didn't say anything. If I see him there again I'll remember what you said.

Mehdi:
You should have told him about the heels to curl his toes up. Otherwise we get another kid injurying himself & giving squat bad reputation because of his bad technique.

I saw him today and he was doing the same thing so I said hello and talked about it with him. He was pretty cool about it, which was nice. I told him about Stronglifts, of course.

Guys, thanks for the feedback! This weightlifting is solitary by nature, and that's fine with me, but there's nothing like a nod from one's peers. Much appreciated!
Oh, man... Increase those oh presses? Better rest up over the weekend :)

squats 55kg 5x5
When I stop concentrating on the form, I've noticed my hips and knees sway on the way up, trying to find a stronger position. Squeezing my glutes and keeping my elbows back helped. The technique notes say to push my knees out, but that means keeping them over my toes, right?
bp   47.5kg 5x5
Working with a wider grip now. Got some help from a guy three years older than me but with lots of experience. Keeping my forearms perpendicular to the floor when in the down position. Feels good.
bb row 57.5kg 5x5
Getting leg shakes on these, but feeling strong. I've been elevating the bb on some plates to bring it up into a better starting position. Same guy who helped me with the bp watches my back for me on the bb row to make sure it's steady and flat.

squats 57.5kg 5x5
Thanks to Mehdi's notes I have been controlling the technique properly. Feeling good here.
oh press 45kg 4/3/3/3/2
Man, these are hard. The third rep of the fourth set took about 20 seconds to lift. But I'm not using my legs, keeping my elbows forward and gripping tightly with hands and glutes. Gonna get this weight in a few more tries.
deads 75kg 5x1
Paying close attention to technique. Pushing hips forward, keeping chest up and shoulders back. Nice lifts.
dips +10kg 11/10/7
Joint pain. Going to ease off the dips, maybe alternate days for a couple of weeks.
side raises (mat) 4x20
Looking for different ab work to break things up a bit. Starting with these and then planning to move to sides on the bench station.
chins +10kg 7/4/4
Looking to break these numbers soon. Been stuck on them since I started adding the 10kg.
180.5 lb / 82kg
Edited Feb 11 to add the weight of the bar (+20kg).

squats 60kg 5x5
Loving them.
bench press 50kg 5x5
Looking forward to more weight.
bb row 60kg 5x5
Feeling good about the form.
oh press 45kg 5/3/3/4/3
Squeezing the glutes and the bar really helped. Don't know where I dug that 4th rep from on the 4th set. Longer rest between sets.
leg lifts +6kg 3x15
situps +5kg 2x20
chins +10kg 8/5/3
First two sets are PRs.
182.5 lb
82.5 kg
Edited Feb 11 to add the weight of the bar (+20kg).
