I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Language Exchange

Nau Mai, Haere Mai. Welcome, in Maori, the native language of New Zealand, one which I'm sorry to say I don't know much of.

We have a diversity of nationalities on these boards, and as someone who speaks only one language (for the time being), I respect all of you that post here in English, your second or third language. I teach English as a second language for a living, so I know how hard it can be. I'm sure that using a forum like this improves your English as much as it does your strength.

Anyway, here's a thread in which we can help each other with our respective languages. Just post any questions or problems, someone will be by to answer them. I'll quite likely be trying to learn a new language soon, Spanish, so I'll come by and get some help with my homework.

thanks swoko, I'll remember the offer. I'll be back to university next year and I'm thinking it would be a good idea to enrol in some language courses while I'm at it.

Thanks for starting this thread, MJH. I can read and write German, so if there are any German speakers that want exchange emails about strength training or even nothing much, bitte schreiben Sie mir an!

While I am on that, I am also studying Vietnamese at the moment, and in the snowball's chance that there is anyone here conversant in that language to let me practice writing with them, that would be fantastic.

I've been studying Persian for a few months. I have some online friends in Iran that I chat with, but desperately need a tutor in real life.

I know a little bit of Japanese as well.

Pretty fluent in Japanese. Love picking apart the kanji and grammar.
Lots of French, but it fades when I'm not traveling
Trying to add Spanish and Italian.
Studied Greek for a while when I was there for three months, found out that I enjoyed the place more when I couldn't understand what they were saying
Great to have this resource, people.
