I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Haven't done lower body in 12 days, today is a test to see how the knee responds:

Deadlifts:
135 lb 1x8
225 lb 1x5
275lb 3x3

Did more deads and less squats b/c they seem easier on the knee, for today.

Squats:
135 lb 1x5
225 lb 1x5
245 lb 1x5
265 lb 1x5

OHP:
80 lb 5x5

Pullups:4,4,3

Small amount of stiffness post-workout, we'll see in the morning.

So, I eventually decided to just take a few months off lifting to let my knee heal up some. Bought a few road bikes, spent a lot of time biking up the hills in my area. I got down to a very lean 205 lbs, currently back up to 210 lb as I've started lifting/eating a bit more again.

After a layoff of 4+ months, I'll be starting back down with the mini-weights:

Workout A, January 7 2010:

Squat: 135 lb 1x10
155 lb 5x5

Bench: 115 lb 5x5

BBRows: 95 lb 5x5

Pushups: 20/20/15

Rev. Crunch 3x12

Today's workout:

Squats: 160 lb 5x5

Deads: 155 lb 2x5 These are probably what puts the most stress on my knee, so I'm going to take them up slowly.

Chins: 5,4,4

OHP: 80 lb 5x5

single leg prone bridges: 4x30 sec

Today's Workout:

Squat: 135 lb 1x10
165 lb 5x5

Bench: 120 lb 5x5

BBRows: 95 lb 3x5

Pushups: 20/20/18

Rev. Crunch 3x12

I felt the squats in my lower back today, not at all in legs/hips. Definitely a feeling of tiredness, not soreness, so I'll just see if they catch up with the normal program.

The lagging bodypart that I'm not going to just wait and see on is chest, my pecs were clearly lagging way behind triceps/shoulders on the bench press. I've had a hard time trying to bring my chest up, other areas keep taking over. I'll come up with something to add to workout 'B' days to help out.

Car's in the shop over the weekend, so I walked to the gym, just 2 miles each way. I don't think it affected my workout at all, just a warmup/warmdown, but my question is this... if walking isn't at all beneficial to strength or endurance, why does it make me feel kinda tired after even a short walk like that? Max effort workouts often leave me energized, but a slow walk is tiring? It puzzles me.
