I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I love them, i've found they're actually better if you do them for time than reps. Alternate 1 rep per arm continuously for the set time. I've also tried them for sets/reps and i stalled pretty quickly that way. They work the shoulders, forearms, and obliques a lot.
Goals:
Squat- 315 lbs 5x5
Deadlift- 400 lbs 1x5 (regular grip)
Press- 205 lbs 1x5

Clean: 220 lbs

Hey thanks for checking out my log and dropping some advice. Your suggesting of trying 5x3, then 3x5, then increasing the weight sounds like it would work. Just a quick question tho, for example, at my 120lbs, I know for fact that I can get the 5x3, but what happens if I then miss the weight at the 3x5? Do I continue to repeat the same weight at 3x5 for three tries and if I hit the weight then go back down to 5x3 then back up, and so on...?

I bet the KB is a blast. When I was more into martial arts those things would whip my ass! I wish more gyms would start carrying them. Keep up the good work and enjoy your week off from the bar.

Ok then. I've been in Kentucky for a week, so i haven't had the chance to post my workouts but I'm home now, so i'll update.

03/16 (morning):
50 lb KB press
10/10/10/10/10

(afternoon):
Got lost in the woods for 4 hours which mostly consisted of wandering trails until i found my way out. The fronts of my legs were more sore than i've ever felt.
Goals:
Squat- 315 lbs 5x5
Deadlift- 400 lbs 1x5 (regular grip)
Press- 205 lbs 1x5
Current (known) 1RM:
Squat: 371 lbs
Clean: 220 lbs

03/17 (morning):

2 handed KB swings (50 lbs):
Tabata 8 rounds

(Evening):
Squats:
5x5 @ 225/235/245/255/265 lbs
315 lbs 1x2

Pullups BW 5/5/5/5/4

DB Press:
4x5 @ 50/55/60/65 lbs
1x2 @ 70 lbs

1 arm DB Row:
3x5 @ 80/85/90 lbs

Trap-bar Deadlift:
225 lbs x10
315 lbs x5

This was a pretty long workout, but i had time to kill waiting on my girlfriends brother. He's on some kind of a bodybuilding style split. Plus, i had the feeling this would be the only time i'd get to workout with a barbell so i'd go nuts.
Goals:
Squat- 315 lbs 5x5
Deadlift- 400 lbs 1x5 (regular grip)
Press- 205 lbs 1x5
Current (known) 1RM:
Squat: 371 lbs
Clean: 220 lbs
