I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I have been neglecting my log, so i'm going to make a real effort to post all my workouts here again. I don't follow a specific program, just basic principles. I can't follow an actual program because i don't have a set schedule to work around. I work in retail: so i work nights sometimes, sometimes days, sometimes i do turn-around shifts (work at night til 12 then come back to work at 9 the next day), etc... I also train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and some Muay Thai/ Boxing. So i can't follow a set routine.

I'll post a few workouts from this last week to get started.

02/18:

Deadlifts 318 lbs 5x5

This was surprisingly easy, though the form check i posted suggests i need to work on my form somewhat.

02/19:

Press: 140 lbs 5/5/5/5/4

Deadlift (form practice): 130 lbs 2x5

I was pretty pissed that i missed that last rep, but it means i get to focus on form the next time around when i repeat the 5x5.

02/22:

Pullups BW: 5/5/5/5/5

I was intending to do chinups with added weight, but when i warmed up with a few BW chinups, my wrist hurt like a bitch. I sprained my wrist about a week or so back, so it must not be completely healed. It didn't bother me to do pullups though, so for now i'm sticking with pullups.
Goals:
Squat- 315 lbs 5x5
Deadlift- 400 lbs 1x5 (regular grip)
Press- 205 lbs 1x5
Current (known) 1RM:
Squat: 371 lbs
Clean: 220 lbs

02/23:

Press 140 lbs 5/4/5/5/4

what the hell? I can't figure out why i missed these reps. Almost every other rep felt pretty easy. :x

Push Press 151 lbs 3/3/3

Did these on a whim.

Not a great workout.

Press- 205 lbs 1x5

Tabatas suck, but I love 'em. You said you were aiming for 10 rounds, but a tabata cylce is only 8 rounds- do eight. I pick two exercises and do them for two cycles, with some rest in between (no shit, eh). I like high pulls, mountain climbers, squat thrusters and burpees (also know as squat thrusts so this confuses some people).

As for your missed reps on the press- was your rest consistant from set to set?
2009 Goals
BP 405 1RM
OHP 245 1RM
Pull-up BW+135 1x3
Squat 425 1x3
DL 570 1x3

My training log:

Grind up to 235-240 BW keeping less than 15%BF

Yeah on the presses i set my stop-watch for 5 minutes each set, i have no idea why i would miss a rep on the second set.

So, on Tabatas, you can choose several different exercises and do them all for 8 rounds each, right?
for example: Swings 8 rounds, pushups 8 rounds, inverted rows 8 rounds, burpees 8 rounds...
Goals:
Squat- 315 lbs 5x5
Deadlift- 400 lbs 1x5 (regular grip)
Press- 205 lbs 1x5
Current (known) 1RM:
Squat: 371 lbs
Clean: 220 lbs

Yep, it's my understanding that a "full" tabata (reserved for psychos) is 4 exercises back to back to back to back. With something like 1-2 minutes in between.

As for the missed rep- weird. I'd call it a bad lift and move on.

Haha, i guess i'm aiming to be a psycho then. I figure i'll add an exercise every couple of times i do Tabata. Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I'm doing two exercises for a few weeks and then will add a third, and then a fourth. Probably not much past that though, cause I really stiffen the next day.

Saturday did squat thrusters and burpees and played soccer last night (Sunday). After the break at the half, I could just feel the cramp slowly coming on.

02/25:
Squats: 240 lbs 3x10
I just felt like doing something different today.

Press: 1RM
151 lbs/ 162 lbs/ 173 lbs (attempted and failed)/ 167 lbs

Still a long way to go for a 205 lb press.

Squat- 315 lbs 5x5
