I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Intensity:

Squat:
100x1
110x0
107.5x0

OHP
50x1

Deadlift
145x1
150x1
155x0

BB Curls
25kg 3x8

Squat was pretty bad - had hardly anything to eat today (1 sandwich) so wasn't expecting a lot - still nearly managed the 107.5kg, it was very close. Overhead press was a HARD grind to get 50x1, extremely slow rep. Deadlift was awesome, blasted my old record of 140kg to bits. I think I would have had a good crack at 155 too but I sat down to rest and lost my mojo. In future I will stay standing between 1rm attempts. The successful deadlifts didn't even feel especially hard, particularly the 150kg. The hardest part by FAR was breaking the bar from the floor, no grip or lockout issues. Finished up with the barbell curls, which I am finding very challenging still! Can't believe how hard they are at such little weight.

Overall good workout. Deadlifts were performed after a hearty meal :)

150 kg is a huge deadlift Leot. Nearly 2xBW. Breaking the bar from the floor is the hardest part for me too.

Cheers Guru - I'm currently 220 on the Wilks scale, you are still ahead of me there, with my 1 year lifting coming up Jan 1st. It will be pretty hard for me to add the 20-30kg to my lifts needed to hit your score at ~235 by then. I'm hoping for something along the lines of 115 squat, 72.5 bench and 165 deadlift by the end of the year.

Volume:

Squat: 85kg 2x5
Bench: 52.5kg 5x5
Row: 47.5kg 3x8

Aborted the squats due to quite a lot of pain in my right forearm - not really sure what it was about but it went away after maybe 30 minutes rest after which I completed the rest of the workout with no problem.

It's hard to say - unfortunately when I started coincided with a prolonged period of irregular training. Certainly I was having a very difficult time progressing on the regular program, and it has been interesting to switch up the routine and perform regular low rep attempts and do some different exercises. I'm going to stick with it till the end of the year and then assess how its performed.

I'd have to say my favorite is the 1rm day, I just love testing with big weight :D

Yeah it must be very rewarding and satisfying on the day you test maxes etc.

Light:

Front Squat: 60kg 3x3
Bench Press: 50kg 3x3
SLDL: 75kg 3x8
Pull ups: 3x3

Working out in very high temperature this evening, probably about 30c with no aircon. Completely stuffed by the time I got around to pullups, the SLDL really take their toll on endurance.

Skipped sundays workout to give my right wrist time to recover, it had been giving me a bit of trouble the last two workouts (just feeling overworked). Did light workout today to get my lifts back on schedule (volume on a sunday).

Intensity Day 2rm:

Squat:
100kg x 2 PR

Bench:
65kg x 0
62.5kg x2 PR

Deadlift:
140kg x 2 PR

Barbell Curl:
27.5kg 8,8,7

Good workout tonight, was feeling a bit crappy during the bench and part of the deadlifts but struggled on through it and set some good numbers for deadlift and squat. Was a bit bummed not to get 65kg even once on bench, still screwing with my form here, my bench really feels like my weakest lift.

My only concerns with the others being squat depth may have been questionable (I didn't film and noone was watching) although I'm pretty sure it was good. Was happy to hit 100x2, as I was only aiming for 97.5 but when it came time I said screw it it's only another 2.5kg :D. Took a pretty long break between reps on the deadlift, probably 5-10 seconds (enough time for 7 or so big breaths). I'll aim for a shorter one next time, just 2 deep fast breaths and haul it up again.

Man curls are hard.

15/11/09

Volume:

Squat 85kg: 5x5
Press 40kg: 5x5
BBR 50kg: 7,6,6

Working out in the morning sucks - I felt like crap, puffed easily for the first half but it didn't seem to have any real affect on my lifts. Squats were challenging but I wasn't going to fail. I do feel however that my upper back was probably rounding a bit as I felt a little stiff in my mid back after the squats.

Press was completed with ease, I did 40kg today as I accidentally skipped it last time. Rows were very hard, some hip extension here, will attempt again next time.

SLDL 75kg: 3x3

Big time DOMS from Sundays workout, feeling better today though. The DOMS was from the squats, all around my hips and inner thigh.

Your press has certainly busted barriers if you are accidently skipping weights and still completing 5x5!

I totally feel you on the butt+inner thighs. It would seem, the lower you go, the more these muscles work.

How are you coping with the front squat now that it's getting heavy?

Intensity:

Squat: 95kg x 3
Press: 47.5kg x 3
Deadlift: 140kg x 3
Barbell Curl 27.5kg 8,8,7

Today was a great work out. Best squats I have done in a long time, felt super solid. Press was good but the last rep was very hard and had to be ground out - I find that I am able to push harder when my wrist cocks over to a 90 degree angle, not sure if this is good or not will check a few form videos out. Deadlift also felt great. I feel like I have really unlocked something mental in the deadlift - just the willingness to haul on the bar as hard as I can not caring what the weight is. The 2nd and 3rd reps were easier than the first.

Took my 2rm on press and deadlift and made it my 3rm :D

My traps are a little stiff today, still from the squats I did on sunday I believe. Didn't impede my workout though.
