I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hi. My names Luide Kakembo and I am from Uganda in Africa... though i doubt any of you have ever heard of the place.

I recently started following the stronglift 5x5 training programme about 2 and a half months back. So far I have gained 6 kg body weight to 82 kg. Am 6ft 5in tall.. I managed to increase my bench press from 40 kg to 70 kg, squat from 30 kg to 70 kg and deadlift from 60 kg to 110 kg.. I still have a long way to go to reach ronnie coleman's level but its a start..

Man you're right about guys avoiding the squat.. Only a handful of the guys at my gym ever squat and the few who do may do it once a week. Same thing with the deadlift. they just bench press all day.. end up with big bodies and small legs.

My targets for next year are to squat 100 kg, deadlift 130 kg, bench press 85 kg and overhead press 60 kg.. its a long shot but its worth a try..

Hopefully he reaches his goals, which he will if his effort maintains. Great to hear, :)!

The wikipedia page on Uganda is a good refresher of what you may have forgotten about that country.
With a per capita GDP of $900, it kind of makes my "difficulty getting enough calories" look like a small problem.
Everything is relative, of course.

Good luck to Luide. Hope to see some more posts from him if he can.

sorry for the confusion guys, this post was in an existing thread and I thought it would be better in it's own. I forgot to consider that it would have my username and avatar. I'm still new to some of the buttons on this spaceship.

sorry about that Luide, and welcome.

I thought maybe you were suffering from multiple personality disorder. Long flights and all I can see how it could happen. :D
