I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Howzit goin Dudes. I'm looking to join a gym in Perth where the people there are into weightlifting, not machines. I live in Scarborough, but a Gym in the city would be fine as I pass through there on my way to and fro work. Now don't laugh, but I went into Fitness First the other day after a few rums and signed up on a monthly basis. This will probably be Ok (if i can find a free weight amongst all the machines!) until I find somewhere better. probably be lotsa girls there too,so it should be alright. So If anyone out there is from Perth and knows a good Gym then I'd appreciate the Tip.

Thanks.

Fitness First isn't as bad as everyone says it is... No one ever uses the squat rack, so you can do your deadlifts, cleans, etc in front of it. The Fitness First in the city has free weights, as does the one in Innaloo (I've been told), and you can get a "passport" membership that lets you use all of the gyms.
There's a gym in Peppermint Grove with bumper plates and weightlifting platforms, (haven't seen it myself) but that's miles from you. All the millionaire MILFs hang out there too.
You should know by now, Aussies don't care about free weights. Even the athletes here are closet BBers.
Long term goal:
Do a squat that makes my mouth bleed
