I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

That's hard to say right now. I really like it, and I have seen a definite benefit which was unexpected: the triumphant return of my flexibility. I haven't been stretching at all, other than my normal warmup and I've gotten my pre-SL levels of flexibility back. I contribute that to the GM's and the RDL's. I just have to get my nutrition in line and start running again, I need to prepare for that damned marathon.

Wednesday-Lower #1
1)Squat- 155/5,5,5
2)Romanian Deadlift- 110/5,5,5
3a)Lunges(each side)- 65/7,7,7
3b)Standing Calf Raise- 100/10,10,10
4a)Unanchored Situps- bw/11,11,11
4b)Lateral Bridges- bw/11,11,11
Stationary Bike- 15 mins

I went into this one feeling great. I added 10 lbs to the Squat and the RDL, I may do it again next time too. I added reps to all the other exercises. A very good day, despite not eating much this morning.

Saturday-Upper #2
1)Press- 95/5,5,4
2)Negative Pullups- bw+10/4,4,4
3a)Pushups- bw/10,10,10
3b)High Pulls- 70/10,10,10
4a)Barbell Curl- 60/10,10,10
4b)Overhead Triceps Extension- 30/11,11,11

The press was a tough one today. I seem to struggle at this weight every time. I was half way up on the last rep of the last set when my arms just gave out. I had to dodge the bar and bend my knees to kill the momentum. I was trying though. I added weight to the negative pullups, but I'll keep testing out full ones sporadically. When I can get an appreciable number I'll combine them both, doing some full ones, and finish off with negatives. Good, but tiring workout today.

Sunday-Lower #1
1)Deadlift- 205/5,5,5
2)Front Squat- 100/5,5,5
3a)Good Morning- 50/10,10,10
3b)Bulgarian Split Squat (each side)- bw+20/8,8,8
4a)Unanchored Russian Twist (each side)- bw/10,10,10
4b)Swiss Ball Passes- bw/10,10,10
Stationary Bike -15 min

My grip started to slip on the last set of deads, but my form felt really good. I am going to stick with the double overhand grip for as long as possible. I was exploding up on the last set of front squats. The ab work is still tough. Another good one today.

Grip is always the weakest link on the DL. A couple of tricks that I do are to either reset my grip after each rep or to change up my grip and do mixed grip just for my last set. I should be using chalk but I always forget it...

Come to think of it, I didn't reset my grip on the last one. I did on the other two sets, but I was in the groove and forgot about it. I'll have to remember next time. I haven't tried chalk yet, mainly because I don't want that shit flying around my apartment. If and when I get into a good gym (not a commercial pseudo-gym) I'd like to try it.

Tuesday-Upper #1
1)Bench Press- 145/4,4,4
2)Barbell Row- 145/5,5,5
3a)Telle Flys- 40's/10,10,10
3b)One Arm Row, Elbow Out- 50/8,8,8
4a)Hammer Curl & Press- 25's/10,10,10
4b)Pullover Triceps Extension- 45/10,10,10

Thoroughly toasted after this one. I don't know if it's because of the Intermittent Fasting or not. This was the first day I wasn't sure if I could finish my workout or not. I pushed through, but now I just want to lie down and go to sleep.

What time are you working out? Morning or evening? I would think working out in the evening would be better. Maybe readjust the times you fast?

I work out around 1 PM, since this is the only time I can. I usually have that time off from work. The fasting is basically dictated by work as well. I drink some of my shake before I lift, so I do have some carbs and protein floating around my system. I am hesitant to switch anything on the second day, as I have heard it takes a while to adjust to fasting. It's not a big deal anyway, when did anyone say working out and dieting was supposed to be easy?

Isn't that the truth. If this were easy we'd all be fit and trim.

I just made an agreement with a friend to send my eating to him every 3 days for review. I need accountabilty. If I don't have anyone to answer to I'm screwed. It's funny that I'm willing to let myself down but I won't let someone else down. Interesting paradigm. :? One that is need of changing.

@PG- I'm glad you have someone to watch over you. I know what you mean though. It's easy to justify failure to ourselves, but it's tough to justify it to someone else. Maybe it's because we always believe we are right, so we want to believe our excuses are valid whereas someone else will see right through them.

Wednesday-Lower #1
1)Squat- 160/4,4,4
2)Romanian Deadlift- 120/5,5,5
3a)Lunges(each side)- 65/10,10,10
3b)Standing Calf Raise- 120/10,10,10
4a)Unanchored Situps- bw/12,12,12
4b)Lateral Bridges- bw/12,12,12
Stationary Bike- 20 mins

Good workout. I added only 5 pounds to the squat because the warmup felt a little heavy. Everything went fine, and I felt good enough to add 5 mins to the cardio.

I never quite thought about it that way but it makes sense. I'm so accustomed to my own BS it's hard to see through it anymore.
