I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Historical Perspective:

Here are 4 photos covering the last 5 months:

August 08, 11 stone - 5/6 split workouts per week, some cardio

October 08, 11 stone - 5/6 split workouts per week, some cardio, fat loss high protein diet

Image

December 08, 10 stone 10 - 3/4 full body workouts per week, some cardio, fat loss (clear fat loss!) high protein diet

Image

January 09, 11 stone 2 - 4 weeks into the 5x5 programme, fat managed high protein diet

Looking at the photographs it is clear that the 5x5 programme has had an effect, as did my splits in the Autumn in ridding body fat, which I mainly lost from my stomach and lower back area. I intend to take a photograph each month and post on my log with training updates and statistics.

I have trained religiously for the last year, but have never ever focused on compound exercises, apart from the bench press, the irony being that I now break a personal best each week on the 5x5 programme.

The squats are felt the most physically, with overhead presses proving the most difficult exercise to perform correctly and will almost definately be my first failure, but confident I can overcome the 42.5kg in time!

Here are my stats as of today:
