I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Today's workout:

Warm up: leg swings, squat stretch, shoulder dislocations

Squats: 1x5x50kg, 1x5x60kg, 5x5x72.5kg

OHP: 1x5x30kg, 1x5x40kg, 5x5x45kg

BBRows: 1x5x60kg, 1x5x70kg, 5x5x75kg

Nice workout today. Had one of my lads in the gym with me checking my form on squats and he said all was OK and so it felt.
Unfortunately, I'm off to the North Sea tomorrow so it's likely that I won't be able to get any weight training in. I'm going to do plenty of cardio with rowing and excercise bike and if the weather isn't too bad I'll see if I can do some wights.
I'm looking forward to getting home again so I can hopefully get a straight run of at least 3 weeks for going to the gym, everything has been so bitty this year with bad weather at sea, injuries and holidays when at home.

Cheers Rere, Glad you dropped in.

I must admit I've not had the continuity I would have liked, but I look back at what I could previously do and compare what I can do now I see an increase in all weights.
I'm really looking to get some continuity and work towards getting stronger. Your log is always inspiring and a great read and it's always good to hear from you,
Cheers,
Mike

I've managed to get home from the North Sea and get back into my gym.
While I've been away I've not managed to do any weight training, but did manage to get to the gym every day to do some cardo.
I've now got a habt of going to the gym and cycling for at least 30 mins before breakfast and it has allowed me to lose 6lbs in the 4 weeks was away.

Anyway, I've been and completed 2 weights sessions since getting home.

Wed:
Warm up - leg swings, squat stretches, shoulder dislocatons
squats - 1x5x40kg, 1x5x55kg, 5x5x65kg,
OHP - 1x5x40kg, 5x5x42.5kg,
deads - 1x3x70kg, 1x3x80kg, 1x3x90kg, 1x5x100kg,
thrusters - 3x5x40kg.

Felt really good to get back into the gym again, but Really suffered with DOMS having not lifted for a while.
Fri:
Warm up: cycle 5 mins on turbo trainer, leg swings etc.,
squats - 1x5x40kg, 1x5x55kg, 5x5x67.5kg,
Bench Press -1x5x40kg, 1x5x55kg, 5x5x65kg,
BBRows - 1x5x50kg, 1x5x60kg, 5x5x70kg,
Cardio -15mins cycle on turbo trainer.

Today's training session:

warm up - 5 mins KB swings, leg swings, squat stretches,

squat - 1x5x40kg, 1x5x55kg, 1x5x65kg, 5x5x75kg(PR),

OHP - 1x5x40kg, 5x5x47.5kg2(PR)

DLs - 1x3x90kg, 1x3x100kg, 2x5x110kg,

Cardio - 10mins cycle on TT.

After a weeks break from training with weights I didn't know if I'd manage the squat and OHP at 75kg & 47.5kg as they're both new PRs for me.

I'm dead chuffed though. Both exercises were easy enough with just the last couple of reps being tough. I'm now set to go into new territory next time round with squats and a 50kg OHP.

having had a somewhat inconsistent year with the weight training I will be looking to be more consistent next year
