I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

About Me/Goals:

I'm a 25 year old college student who's aiming for a career in computer science. My brother introduced me to weight training when I was 12 and I inherited his old weight bench/exercise books. I made fast progress, but ended up with injuries due to bad form. The books I inherited were old Weider books from the 70s-80s. Where they advocated Presses/Chins behind the head, squatting with a board beneath your feet and shrugging by rotating your shoulders. Ended up hurting my shoulder (left one) and my knee due to bad form. The injuries got bad to where I got frustrated and gave up on lifting altogether when I was about 16. Now being inactive for 9 years I feel it's time to pick up the iron and do it the right way. I went through a trial run with the 5x5 program and made the mistake of trying to stack on weight too fast. But right now I know roughly where I'm at in all my lifts and plan on starting fresh this Friday. While it's a bit depressing seeing how weak I've become, it's also a good tool for motivation. I ran into an old classmate I haven't seen since I was about 14 and she made a comment how I'm no longer buff......made me wanna smack her around a little but again another tool for motivating myself. I'm fortunate to come across Stronglifts.com and download the eBook. Looks very informative and has me excited to see the results I will obtain in the future. Main thing I have to keep in mind is to start slow and gradually move up in small increments (5lbs) and take advantage of deloading (great concept).

Stats:
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 175 pounds
Bodyfat %: 20% I'm guessing......too high is all I know.

Lifts:
Squat: 135Ibs x 5RM
Bench Press: 95Ibs x 5RM
Bent Row: 95Ibs x 5RM
Deadlift: Unknown
Overhead Press: Unknown
