I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

hey, does anyone know of any good mobility maneuvers for before a workout, about 5-8 would be good for whole body. hard to distinguish between them and stretches on a google search.

not so much a problem area, just for a general warm up, i've been used to stretching which now i read is not the best way.

I use :
Body squats

Supermans

Bird-dogs
Shoulder Disclocations
Usually 2x10 - seems to work ok for me.

As for warm-up, i just do light sets of calisthenics, similar to Mouse's routine, or stretching, some yoga. But I also do the movements I will be using in the workout normally with a light dumbbell.

With the mobility we've been taught is much more simple than that. Basically it's working from small ROM to large ROM from top to bottom [looking side-to-side, shoulder rolls... And so on.]

For my warmup i do the dynamic stretchs that everyone is talking about, Leg swings, fire hydrants, cat stretch, bird dog, glute activation bridge and ankle rotations.
And as of recently as i mentioned in my log I have included a weighted warm up from Laurensfitness.com that can get your body up and ready.
