I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Gender: Male
Age: 17
Height: 6'
BW: 153.5
BF: Unknown

Strength Stats as of 10/26:
Squat: 103 pounds
Dead: 153 pounds
Bench: 103 pounds
Press: 73 pounds
Pull-ups: 4
Chin-ups: 8

My current goal is to have "functional strength," a rather nebulous term but one I define as being able to throw my own bodyweight around in most of the exercises, so about 155 pounds in all the exercises. This will be particularly difficult with the press, but I feel like if I stick with the workout and break through my current plateau in that exercise I can achieve this goal within a year. I also wish to be able to do 20 or more pull-ups consecutively. Ultimately, I want to drop my BF below 10% and keep it there, achieve the above goals, and up my strength to 200 lbs or more on most of the big exercises.

I have never been in a full-on strength training plan before, so all this is relatively new to me. Most of my training has been restricted to endurance, as my best athletic achievements have been in running (5:28 one mile, 19:32 2.85 miles). I lost 25 pounds from a high of 190 pounds two years ago through cardiovascular exercise and intermittent interval sprinting, another 20 pounds via wrestling, and maintained a weight of 148 pounds through track and cross country seasons. I am now almost six pounds heavier after starting StrongLifts, and hope to lose the "skinny look" soon enough.

That's probably enough for right now, I'll update this again Wednesday.
