I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Looks pretty solid. Nice job so far. How do you intend to keep them upright? Are you going to connect them?

Is that stainless steel or galvanized steel? Stainless steel costs a fortune where I come from. Also if it is stainless steel make sure you're using stainless steel electrodes. If it is all stainless steel I think your great great grandchildren will be squatting with it also!

Looks sweet so far! It looks like you know what you're doing, why don't you just make a power rack?

One thing I can say for sure, it's gonna handle some huge weights there...it was fully reforced and it's so freaking solid...so it has to be like +500lbs or more to make it tumble and fall..

It's made of 100% stainless steel bars...

Total cost of the project: around $37 USD = $25 for the 3 (20feet long) stainless steel bars...10$ for my neighbour who helped me a lot with the welding machine etc...and then around 1-2$ for the 4 screws at each side of the stand from where the plates are gonna be hanging...

So it was easy to do, it took us around 6 hours I have to say, since we started yesterday at around 11am until 3pm when we had to stopped since I had to get ready to leave for work,,,and then today from 11am to 1pm...

Very good job. What do you do for bench presses? You might be able to add some lower hooks to that if you need to.

For BP I have a bench which allows me to do flat and incline..not decline, but that's ok... :)

Exactly Doit :D...I have the bigger plates on the lower screws and on the upper screws I have the smallest plates... :D I add some more balance for the stand which is great :D

Yep you're right if was super cheap, I also enquired about the cost of building the stand out of wood but it was very expensive..so stainless steel bars made my day ! :D

What really makes me feel great is that I just did my workout and squats felt easy...and I was very surprised bc I di ATG squats, maybe it's not the right thing to do, but didn't feel a pain, and they feeling was awesome :D...I was with a big smile during the whole workout.. :D hehe LOL...also it help me pull a new PR for OHP since I had to clean the weight up to my shoulders, and the last time I had a hard time performing them, this time I did better, just on 5th set (4-5rep) was tough...but It felt awesome!..

For more info check my LOG hehe :D

Doesn't seem like there's much space to get right under the bar. The bottom cross piece looks like it doesn't leave much room for toes and the same with the cross piece about chest height. Could be a problem as the weight goes up.

dont worry mate they are in the right place, I knew their position could be an issue when lifting and doing squats but we took the right measures to avoid any kind of obstruction they might cause. Yesterday I used it and it was pretty wel designed, no issues at all, pretty solid and stable.
