I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Started strong lifts on May 15th after stumbling across the site.

May 15th (Start of SL)

5'10"
Body weight - 240lbs
47" around my gut (measured at my belly button)
Wore a size 40 jeans, and was looking at 42s :(

Today (July 26th)

5'10"
Body weight - 220lbs
44.5 around the gut
Lastnight, I shocked myself and I was able to wear 36 jeans comfortably!

Starting Weight

Squat - 135lbs
Deadlift - 95lbs
Bench - 115lbs
Overhead - 95
Pushups - could barely do 6

Current Weight as of July 26th

Squat - 255lbs
Deadlift - 235lbs
Bench -190lbs
Overhead - 120 (struggling with these)
Pushups - 25 - 15 - 15

This week, when i hit 190lbs on the bench i could only get 3 sets done. So, i dropped it to 175 and I was able to complete the workout for the day.

Now, I know that I am not done with my 12 weeks yet, but I am close. I did miss one week of lifting due to pneumonia, but other than that I have been in the gym.

I also do 20-30 min on the elliptical after every workout.

Lately, my diet has not been good enough. I know I am not eating nowhere near as many calories or grams of protein as I should be, and that is probably why I plateaued on the bench press. Also, Ive been at 220lbs (body weight) for almost 2 weeks now, and that is probably due to my body storing what it has. So, Im going to try and tighten up the diet some more and hopefully it helps.

The only supplements I use is 2 whey protein shakes per day - optimum nutrition (24g of protein per shake).

I have more energy than ever, and my clothes all fit and feel great. My legs seem to have changed the most, my thighs feel pretty shredded.

My goal is to get back to 200lbs body weight and be able to wear a 33 or 34 pair of jeans; and of course, be as strong as possible.

What an awesome story! It's nice reading about success stories like this because the authors are usually really happy.

Congrats and keep it up!

Oh, do you have a log set up yet?

Another thing I would like to add is that before I began SL's I would get this nagging lower back pain every once in awhile. It would happen at random times (usually when i was sitting in a chair or couch or whatever). The pain would be so bad it would prevent me from standing up. Since ive started SL's i have not felt this pain anymore.
