I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

just curious. Crazy meaning his stuff is not for normal guys or the average population? Or crazy as in weird and mentally unstable lol

I always thought his stuff was great; really useful. Though his DL 5x a week, ( no squats, rows and bench program) seems to run counter-intuitive to what Stronglifts and Mark Rippetoe advocate.

He's kind of weird and his programs are a little unusual. His books are written very well and i believe anybody could do his programs just from reading his books. His program from Enter the Kettlebell has the potential to turn someone into an absolute monster from just using 3-4 exercises. I really enjoy the fact that he seems a little crazy. It was definitely not meant as disparaging in any way.

Let's cut the guy some slack. Bodybuilding, strength training, weight lifting - whatever you want to call it, it's about building the body YOU want not what others want. Squats are the best exercise EVER but you can modify how you do them to get the effect you desire.

Squat more upright and concentrate on "quads" rather than "butt."

By the way, I can attest to the idea that women like nice butts.

OK, you make a fair point that it's each to their own, but it should be pointed out that strength training and weightlifting are only tangentially (or not at all, for many) about building a body.

Man this thread turned sour right quick. Not sure why he was banned, seems kinda corny.

I'll offer this up: Squats done correctly are a good exercise, but my personal fear is that I am doing them incorrectly, and have no way of telling. Ergo, it might be a bad idea to keep doing them without buying a camera or getting someone to help in person.

That's about all I can think of. I someday hope to have an "ass" and good enough squat gains.
