I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

New to the website and the stronlift program. Im a firefighter in Florida. Want to get stronger.

27 years old
5' 10"
215 lbs

5 rep max

Bench- 225
Squat- 205
Deadlift- still working on technique. Usin 115lbs to learn
Over head press- 115lbs

After I obtain my 5 rep max I am supposed drop down 30% and use that weight for the first workout and add on 5 lbs each workout after correct?

Haven't maxed on anything since I started back with the weights.

Gonna find my 5 rep max next week. Get started on the routine.

I'm a Firefighter in Canada , won a Gold Medal at the World Police Fire Games in Vancouver in August.
It was in the Push/Pull event, BP and Deadlift, GrandMaster A div. which means I'm in my early 50s man where did the time, but I digress. Anyway did some reading of the site, liked what I saw decided to join today. I have been training steady since last Jan. Used to train alot got off track 3 yrs went by and man it was hard to start all over with weight I had never lifted before , I mean little weights not big ones. Took months to get back to my first warmup levels. So the best advice I can give, is don't take 3 yrs off at 50 ha ha. I am here cuz I want to set a world record in New York in 2011 , that would be a games record in the Deadlift I have been doing alot of cardio to get down to the next lower weight class. I think the record for my age and weight is around 225 kilos. I have 2 yrs to get ready , I have done 200 in the last meet, so I think it's achievable. Time will tell. Gary
