I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Another 1000 members in just a little over two months. The stronglifts fever is surely spreading faster than ever.

That's good - hopefully more and more of the members will contribute with logs of their own - they really are a wealth of information.

That's the best news of all. It's nice to see the training log section really active. I could tell there was a lot of activity because it's becoming harder for me to keep up with all the logs!

Yeah I just went to training log category and checked how much logs were updated during last month.

The blog post about how to stay motivated when alone + training logs ordered definitely had the results I intended.

10k forum members was my goal this year. At this rate it looks like we won't reach that until February, but still great progress (3K users in january 2009, so this will be close to 300% growth this year, yes I track everything business-wise too).

What are you doing to promote the site outside of google and the site/pass-it-on mentality itself? Have you thought about doing interviews with one of the fitness magazine type people?

I'm doing a lot of things which seem to be effective.

Haven't thought about the interview things, my initial feeling is that online is more effective. I watch myself being open minded with this kind of stuff though.

Yeah - I just think you have a big resource of brainpower and experience across industy here so you could probably harness some good ideas from the members of ideas to help grow the site further. The magazine thing was the first in my mind, but I bet there are marketing/PR people using the site who could feed in some ideas to help it grow further. After all the more members the more knowledge and the more we all benefit from being a part of it.

What you've been doing is obviously working well though given the growth! Congratulations - you should be very proud.

The problem is that a lot of marketing/PR people are doing stuff that doesn't work. That does sound bad, but that's how it is unfortunately. Just think were spam comes from (email/facebook/...). Again I watch myself to be open minded and listen to what people say. But there's a difference between what you *think* works and what really works. I prefer listening to people who have started and grown their own business and have results to show for.

I don't mean the magazine isn't good, it just seems so much work for little turnover. And since I'm lazy by nature + am so busy, I need to prioritize with stuff that's more effective. Basically if I find something that works I just keep doing it. Why change what works? (does all of this sound familiar btw?)
