I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

You know the biggest benefits come when you knock out sets of 10 reps, whereas right now the only way you can get 10 reps is with two sets of five.

Ummm.... why is that interesting?

Because our program is sets of 5 not 10.
Stats:
Bench: 97kg
Squat: 112kg
Deadlift: 117kg
OHP: 55kg
Dips: 40kg
Pull-ups: 22kg

The deadlift is not dead; size is dead without it.

5 with additional weights is better for strength than 10

Well, I am not convinced that T-nation is the way to go to increase reps, but that is only because of lack of proof. That said, I am going to give it a go and prove it out for me.

I like the thought of calling them chest ups. Truthfully, I have be way shy of that (purely because of the name, i.e. chin).

Just did my first set of 3x8 band assisted to get the feel for them. What I have to say at first is wow, the multiple reps, even with the bands has my forearms (chins) so stressed/swollen, it's amazing. I couldn't actually even reach 3x8. It was more like 8,7,6, but I made the 8 attempts. And I couldn't get my chest to any but the first couple reps. But it's a work in progress.

I knew about hundredpushups.com, was not aware about 20 pulls. Need to check it out.

What are you using as band for the assisting ?

A pair of heavy 36" duty tarp straps set horizontally at about mid thigh height.

I combined the thoughts of that article with this one. Right now I want to focus on chin-ups rather than pull-ups and have already done the most "full" chin-ups that I have ever done. I have only been doing HFT for little over a week: 3/7/9/9/0/6/10/8 (0 was no attempt).

What's a pull up?

Yes, I do think I am funny.
