I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Is that "the" Eddie Izzard the comic? I can't see him actually doing that. That is nuts for sure.

Yes - Eddie Izzard the comic. He was raising money for charity.

He's not running at marathon speed, he did his first in 10 hours, that's 4,3km/h.
Normal walking speed.

Obviously doing it 43 times in 51 days is hard :D

Dean Karnazes: 50 marathons, 50 states, 50 days.

He runs ultras, started by running to his marathons, then marathoning, then running home.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Karnazes

Karnazes has completed a number of endurance events, mostly running events, but also a swimming event. Most notably, he ran 135 miles nonstop across Death Valley in 120°F temperatures, and a marathon to the South Pole at -40°F. In 2006, he ran 50 marathons, in all 50 US states, in 50 consecutive days, finishing with the New York City Marathon, which he completed in three hours and thirty seconds.

Last I read he ran 262 miles with a couple of 15 minute naps and saline injections, and wants to hit 500 non-stop.

Dean K is a joke in the running community, he is just a good marketer, there are many better ultra runners than he.

I think it's pretty disrespectful to call someone running a DAILY marathon for 2 months a joke. I don't know the guy, but it's like saying someone's 800lbs. deadlift is a joke because someone else can deadlift 900lbs.

His marketing of himself make his actually accomplishments much less inspirational than they would be otherwise.
