I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I have 2 workout logs - one "dirty" one for taking to the gym, one "clean" one where I neatly transfer my workout.

Oh yeah, absolute necessity!
all my shirts on hangers have to face the same direction in my closet

Hadn't thought about that, but yes it would be SO wrong if one of my shirts was facing the other way.

I know I have my quirks, but I have a kid in my class (8 years old) who always lines up 3 pencils on the right hand side of his desk. At the end of the class he will then wipe each one with a tissue before putting them back in the pencil box (at least he uses the same tissue every time, which he then folds neatly and puts into the pencilbox as well). I like the fact that he's always prepared, but I'm not sure if I should say something about the wiping to his parents - this could escalate into wiping the door handle 3 times after closing the door and who knows what else?

I think the matching plates syndrome is too common to be called a syndrome. I too have it. Moreover, I refuse to use too many plates if I can manage in less, i.e. If my warm up set for OHP is 30 kg (two 5 kg plates) & then to move on to 40, I remove the 5 kg plates & put 10 kg plates instead of adding two more of 5 kg, even if I have to search the gym for them.

- all my shirts on hangers have to face the same direction in my closet
That's an issue with me too.
- i dont walk on painted lines (like parking lines separating car spots)
- i try to avoid walking on the grout from tile, so i try to place my feet on the full square tile
That reminds me of the movie "As good as it gets"

  • Same plates
  • Same color everything
  • Equal distance of plates from edge of the bar
  • Plates have to face same direction at all times

Bunch of other stuff, yeah.

My plates are two colors, I have some black and some silver... colors always have to match up and if I realize that I needed to add another 10lbs I take all smaller plates off and put the 10 on instead of just putting them on the end. And I recalculate everything 3 times just to make sure I got it right.. I have some odd poundage plates so sometimes math gets tricky.

I use the same locker at the gym (#208) everytime; if it's taken, then I will settle for 210, but if they're BOTH gone, my whole night is ruined.

Hmm I know there a couple things i have a tick for.

When preparing my meal i have to use the same dishes for each thing or else it just doesn't taste the same for some reason. It was a real bummer when i realized one of the dishes i was using was borrowed and i had to return it..

iPod in left pocket phone in right..

I dont have many but i know my GF does and i looove exploiting them.

When the fries come in a fry pod kind of thing she gets annoyed if i dump them on the tray and she wont eat them because they touched the tray even though it has the paper thing. (haven't done that ever since SL, fast food sucks)

If i take her clothes off i HAVE to take her socks off too. It just isn't the same if she takes them off for some reason and they must be off.. I call her a weirdo.

If i steal her socks and put them on on the 'wrong foot' she has to correct them.

If my sleeve is shorter than the other she must fix it. Same goes for my buttons if my pocket has a button and both buttons aren't buttoned she has to fix it. If i roll up one sleeve or pant leg and not the other, same thing. I guess everything has to be symmetrical.

I like to make sure the bar/cage is parellel with the cross beams of the ceiling before lifting.

The bar collars have a threaded pin/bolt that tightens into the bar. The pins are an angle. I like to make sure the angle places the top of the bolt away from the weights and do it the same on both sides.

This is more of a comfort thing, but I always empty the contents of my pocket (wallet, keys, phone) when I have to sit down for an extended period of time. This includes restaurants, work, or hanging out a friend's place.

Markg, that's not weird its essential - well especially if your missus has a sweetner in her tea/coffee - you don't want to mix up which cup has it and drink the wrong one - blurgh!
