I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Old lifter getting back into the game

Postby Mathillas on Tue Nov 03, 2009 11:46 pm

Hey guys,

I've been on a hiatus from lifting for almost 7 years. I was never a pro or anything, but I used to lift when I was in the Navy. I really didn't know too much, but I had a friend that was a personal trainer and he would help guide me. I got pretty big, I used to use a Nitro/Cell tech stack with the old school Xenadrine(with Ma Huang :). Now that I'm way too big, 278 lbs! to be exact, I wanted to return to an old passion. It seems like the community here is really great and it looks like when I lifted before I was doing everything WRONG!! So I'll start a diary soon and hopefully we can see some awesome results! I look forward to talking to you guys!

Take Care!

welcome to stronglifts Mathillas.

How old is old? You might find it interesting to have a look at some of the older guy's training logs, using this list, and see what they're up to. There's quite a strong community of slightly creaky old boys and girls here.

I'm not really old, only 31. I guess I shouldn't have been so ambiguous with the title :P

I'm only 31, but seven years from the gym is a long time....well for me at least
