I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

It's not the longest log that's for sure but I can see where it is difficult for people to follow because it gets long so quickly. I have a hard time following it all sometimes.

I'm going to try it. I'll get it started soon and put a link in my sig. It won't work unless everyone participates. But if it doesn't take off then I'll just go back to clogging up my log.

I like the "PG's coffee shop" idea. It's sort of like an after party for this log. Or a de-briefing (No not the kind of briefs you're thinking of, Mouse).

I like the idea also. So I guess we'll give it a try. That way people who are only interested in the workouts won't have to muddle through so much conversation.

Speaking of workouts. . . . I need to log this morning's.

Holy shit, Batman. I finished all sets on my squats. Thought I was going to puke. I had to sit with my head between my knees for a few minutes. Once I got up I cursed Jim a few times. :x I can feel the soreness setting in already. That was a good session.

Bench was going along fine until I did sets 4 & 5. My shoulder wasn't hurting but I noticed the bar was going up faster on the right side.

I had to stop after 3 sets on BBRs. Shoulder was starting to hurt.

Instead of using the oly bar for seated press I used the smaller barbells. I'll build up as I'm able to.

Face pulls were alright. Hopefull they will help get my shoulder back to normal.

I also picked up some tennis balls at Target. Time for some soft tissue work.

Lookin' good on the squats PG. About your shoulder, where does it hurt exactly? Front? Rear?

Thanks LTL.

Rear. Right at the bottom of my left shoulder blade. Sometimes when it is at it's worse the back of my arm will ache and my pinkie and ring finger will fall asleep.

Go here. Scroll down to the picture. Look at the posterior shoulder. The teres minor muscle. That's where the pain is at.

Amazing workout over there. I've been curious as to how I would suit up with this kind of challenge. Hard to imagine!

Have you gotten any results yet? I'm interested if this brings out some nice result. But I guess its too early to tell.
Maybe after I reach my 1.5bw squat, I shall try different things for the faster fat loss.

I am hugely interested how your stat will come out in the end, especially with minimal cardio.

You never know until you try. I doubt Jim will mind other people using his program. But as others have said .. . . 10s are the worse. I'm really looking forward to week 2.

I haven't gotten any results aside from soreness. But I'm only a week into the program. I'm going to take stats at the end of July. If there hasn't been much progress them I'm going to have to clean up the diet even more and do cardio.

When I reached BW squats I was done. It was just a feeling but I knew it was time. I'm glad I made the switch.

The cardio may change. I'm hoping it won't but if I want this bad enough I may have to suck it up.

Really? You just switched to this program after you reached a BW? I hit my BW last week and tomorrow I'm going over my BW. To be frank, I'm a bit scared. Didn't you think stressing the body more with more weight would be more beneficial to the fat loss? Or did you think that stressing a body by switching a routine would be more beneficial to the fat loss? I guess we'll have to see at the end of July. Interesting though.

But 10s look real nasty, yeah. Huge work there!

The number 1 reason for the change was because I wanted a more "bodybuilding" stye workout. I did SL in order to gain a good strength base and learn basic barbell exercises. Something I should have done when I first started lifting in 2001.

Who knows what I'll do after I lose this fat. I may come back to SL or some variation of it in order to build more strength. But I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

[quote"pagangoddess"]I typically wear sketchers. I already had them when I started SL and they have a hard sole. But here's the catch (and the embarrassing part) they look like shit with shorts. They look fine when I wear pants but not shorts.[/quote]
Never thought about how my shoes go with my shorts... come to think of it, there have been times when the socks don't even match!

PG's Coffee Shop is a great idea, but I wonder if Mehdi could add a chatroom to Stronglifts. It seems a lot of logs get slightly derailed by idle banter - yours more than most, for some reason. :D

I understand that your workout is aiming to do 10s at 80% of max. Is that your 80% of 1RM or 5RM? Also how did you decide the weight for the first four sets at the start? Was it just a matter of spreading them out evenly?

Great going on the squats! I think I would probably be close to puking, too.

I found some kick ass converse shoes at Target the other day. They're grey with skulls on the heels. They're on my list. And they'll look ok with my shorts.

The only problem with a chat room that I can forsee is the time zones. Which is why I created my virtual coffee shop. It allows me to have all the idle banter without having to be glued to the computer. Maybe Mehdi can find something with a trial basis. We could try it for 30 days and if doesn't take off then he isn't out anything. But I'll post that in your thread.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure that out. Surely it doesn't have anything to do with me.

My guess is that each set of 10 is a percentage of my max. Not sure what the actual % is. Maybe Jim will chime in and let us know.

We used my 3x5 numbers. It probably would have been better to find my 1RM but we ran with what I had. Granted on all my maxes I've never actually accomplished all sets of 5 but I could at least lift it for 2-3 reps.

Great going on the squats! I think I would probably be close to puking, too.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to this week as I don't have to worry about it until next week. :D
