I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hey, you did the bear! Yes, I'm late to this party. I was just looking at a video of that no more than ten minutes ago, the top guy finished his last round (of 5!) at 150 lbs. I was hurting just looking at it. But now I definitely want to try it. Way to sac up (metaphorically speaking) and give it a shot.

What would that complex entail?
BTW, I'm still waiting to find out when your flight arrives.

Low fat, low sugar yogurt with a handful of granola is another good for you snack.

I was thinking greek yogurt and homemade granola. I don't like the commercial brands.

Thanks Max. I had seen the video quite some time ago but just now tried it. The clean part of the complex is the hardest for me to master. Still working on form.

Let me make another recommendation: http://startingstrength.wikia.com The Power Clean section in there is really solid (if you don't own the Starting Strength book already) and there are some videos. Also some good video stuff at the Crossfit website on most major lifts. I've been struggling to learn the power clean lately, and those have helped.

Thanks for the link Max. No I don't have the book. I need to get it but it will have to wait awhile.

Tonights Workout:

T-Bar Row - Added a 10 lb plate. 2x12. Then increased to 12.5 lbs for the last 2 sets.
Pulldowns - widegrip 70 lbs 2x12
Pulldowns - suponated 70 lbs - 1x8: 60 lbs 1x12
Seated cable row - 60 lbs 4x12
BB Curl - 30 lbs 4x8,7,7,6

The bear complex - 4x5

I really had to push myself out the door. I have not felt good these last few days and haven't been sleeping well. But I went anyway. I don't want to miss a workout so soon into this program.

It was a pretty good workout all in all. But I'm thoroughly exhausted and in need of a shower.

I'm thoroughly exhausted and in need of a shower.

I love that feeling and knowing that I'm going to get a really deep solid sleep because of it. Sometimes it's this reward that gets me of my ass in the 1st place! (Or maybe it's all the post-exercise 'happy' hormones - got to feed the habit.)

Good job on pushing yourself. Its just like that for me, especially after a long hard stressful day!

But once you get to the gym and start hitting the weights, usually brings out some good stuff.

I love those post exercise happy hormones.

Unfortunately I still didn't sleep very well or for very long. I'm hoping this is just a cold/allergies rather than a sinus infection setting in. It makes for shitty sleep either way. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Thanks Zizzy. I was pleased with the workout. Especially doing 4 sets of the bear. I may try for 5 sets on Friday. But I was thinking about doing that first, then weights and then 15 minutes cardio.

Speaking of cardio .. . . I did do 15 minutes before my workout like a good girl.

I forgot to post it with yesterday's workout.

That was my idea.
Male 37 - 5'9" - 240lb.
Deadlift 600+
Squat 500+
Pess 315 (on a good day)
Bench 450+
these numbers will go up

Do you have Trader Joe's over there? Their greek yogurt is awesome.
