I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

So rather than sleep in I met up with an acquaintence/friend and did some cardio. I've chatted with her at the gym over the years but she recently tracked me down facebook when we realized we had a mutual friend.

Anyway . . . . I did 45 minutes of cardio this morning.

Great job PG!!! I definitely would have slept in. Can you make this a weekly or bi-weekly cardio date with her? That would be perfect.

I'd like to but the gym does not have daycare open on Sundays. But anytime I can I will meet up with her. She works out in the mornings and I get there around 7:30p. But I have her on facebook so I can reach her anytime I may have a free morning.

Yes the discipline has improved. Now I need to apply it to my eating. Seems as though I'm either eating too much or too little.

I wasn't feeling good last week nor was I sleeping good. My appetite plummeted. I've only been eating maybe one meal a day. I try to eat but once I start I feel nauseated. Bowels have been a bit messed up too. So I've been avoiding food. The last couple of days I've been drinking protein shakes made with juice instead of milk just so I'm getting something in me. It's easier on my tummy and I don't have to stomach food.

Now that I'm feeling better my eating should level off to a more normal pattern. I'm thinking next week things will be back on track.

Monday's workout:

Squat
10 - 85 lbs
10 - 90 lbs
10 - 100 lbs
6 - 115 lbs
6 - 115 lbs

These would have been better had I not been so sore. We'll see how I do on Thursday. I guess I better start eating.

Bench Press
10 - 45 lbs
10 - 45 lbs
10 - 55 lbs
10 - 65 lbs
10 - 75 lbs

I think I messed up here along the way. I need to go back through my log and figure it out. It looks like I was supposed to do 2 sets at 75 lbs. I'll look through my journal when I get home.

SLDL - 0 - My legs are still sore from last Friday. I unracked for the first set, did the first rep and all through my hams and glutes it felt like one big charlie horse. So I stopped. I'll do these on Thursday.*

Clean and Press
55 lbs - lots of them. I tried 65 lbs but almost lost the bar. So I kept the weight at 55 lbs. I was dripping with sweat when I finished. I wanted to do more but my grip was failing. Really concentrated on form. I think I worked on them for almost 15 minutes.

*Hubby and I are going to Lansing to meet some friends on Friday. We won't be back until Saturday late afternoon. So I'm only going to get 2 weight sessions in this week. I have a date with my friend to do cardio Wednesday evening.

ETA: I've noticed 2 things. First there seems to be more definition in my upper body and my jeans were not as tight today as they were the last time I put them on. I'll measure bf at the end of this month.

Sorry to hear that. So are you trying to force feed your way to a normal pattern now?

You didn't mess up on the Bench Press. I know it sucks when you find out you lifted the wrong weights, but at least you didn't use to much weight and overtrained, so there's still a next time.

Glad to see you're feeling better. Being sick and lack of food really kills the workouts when you come back.

@DJJ - I'm not going to force feed myself. It will make things worse. But if I can stomach a couple of protein shakes I will. At least it will give me some nutrition until I can eat better.

@RB - Thanks. Funny thing is my workouts have been excellent this last week. It seemed to clear up the congestion and help me sleep better. I didn't go with the intention of having such good workouts but when I got there I went with the flow and kicked ass. Maybe I should go to the gym more often when I'm under the weather.

but my grip was failing

You might find chalk helps here, if you aren't already using it. I bought some just for deadlifts, but as I'm a sweaty type I use it for benching, OHPing and powercleaning too.

Sorry to hear about the eating, but damn PG, you are kicking ass on an empty tank! Very impressive.

I was using chalk. But this was my actual grip not the sweating. My hands were killing me last night.

@LTL - Thanks. I don't know what's gotten into me. :wink:

Nice workouts PG! I don't have nearly enough patience to do that kind of volumes you're pushing.
