I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

today started my max out week. i max out on all major and some other lifts
squatted 175kg (passed my goal by 5kg. i told u guys i could do it easily)
deadlifted 196kg. not happy with this at all. my deadlift has always been good but ive plateaued in that weight range. my deadlift has actually gone down since last month when i did 205kg. its really pissing me off and any ways anyone has to increase it i will appreciate
power cleaned 105kg
one arm strict dumbbell pressed 39kg

I'd stay away from trying to hit pr's on deadlift too much, especially using singles. Deadlift doesn't like it too much. 5RMs works better from my experience. That and bringing your squat up, if squat goes up, deadlift will go up.

Paul's training log

Postby paul » Tue Feb 05, 2008 3:25 am

today was legs day, start of a new 4 weeks, which means new exercises
squatted 157kg for 4 reps
did some front squats 102 kg for 4 sets of 3 (i hate them, sorry mehdi lol)
did pull throughs (decent exercise, but the only problem is that theres not enough weight on the cable machine)
it sucks because my lower back keeps burning so much its becoming really bad and i had to cut my workout short. ive been doing glute activation every other day for a couple weeks now and i dont feel a difference. if ANYONE has any idea why my lower back is burning so much or how to fix it, PLEASE tell me

from now on my weight will be in pounds (tired of converting to kgs)
today i did legs. very good workout
squatted 345 for 6 reps (2 rep increase since last week)
front squatted 225 for 5/3/5/4/5
pull-throughs (nice burning in the hamstrings)
stiff leg deadlifts 275 for 2 sets of 6
dead 1/4 squats 3 sets of 3 with 635
overall good workout. my lower back didnt start burning after the squats like it normally does, which is a very good thing.

today i did legs. i got blood taken in the morning so i guess it wasnt a good idea to squat later on in the day lol because i felt like i was going to die so i cut the workout short. but before i went home i did this:
squats - 345lbs 1 set of 6
front squat - 225lbs 3 sets of 6. im starting to like front squats now. i guess im becoming more comfortable with them
pull throughs - 2 sets of 15 with the whole stack (still wasnt enough weight)
it was a decent workout until i felt like i was going to have a heart attack lol
do you guys think getting blood taken could have had to do with it?
also my lower back hasnt been hurting after the squats which is very good. its not getting fatigued so much like it used to be
