I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

My body has transformed a lot since I have been reading stronglifts.com, rippetoe books and putting it in practice.

It's funny, people reaction. People have said to me I look stronger, wider and even taller!
My father said I was fatter, but that's how he rolls =P I don't care.

Yesterday a girl who I didn't see me since some months ago said I looked taller! HAHA Altough I am 24 years old so I am not going to grow up vertically anymore =P.

So what kind of reaction did people get with you?

Lifting weights is awesome =)

c ya.

nice one seneca, it's great that you're getting reactions like that, keep it up.

The thing about being taller might be about being more confident, holding better posture, and just being more confident in general. I feel the same way, like I have an extra inch since I stopped slouching and started paying more attention to my scaps.

It's awesome. I think posture plus I am much more massive, which gives a impressive presence when I get into places.

Confidence too.

I think that everybody who suffered from depression/lack of confidence or any psycho disturbances should do strength training. It strengths your body and mind.

I started SL in December 2008. A gentleman at the gym saw me about 3 months ago. He hadn't seen me since starting SL. The only thing he could say was 'girl, you're looking solid. What the hell have you been doing?'.

Best compliment I've had in a long time. :D

Close relative saw me for the first time yesterday in about a year.
Said I looked REALLY different. Joked about me suddenly being twice the size...

I've been going at stronglifts 5x5 since around march but with several breaks and some slow loading due to form adjustments/flexibility. Just have an overall mass gain. Decent muscle gains, some fat gains. Feel much better like this!

Since I started doing 5x5 and eating to scale, my mother has stopped accusing me of being "gaunt". I lost over 50lbs last year and she never really adjusted to that.
