I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hollister is terribly priced, IMO. And all the polos I've tried there fit like they were the next size down. Makes me feel like I'm shopping at Baby Gap :D

UnderArmor makes polos now. Their light, breath well and seem to never wrinkle.
I have one and like it.

Old thread, but couldnt resist posting here

I like Express polos (can often get cheap deals), H&M polos (very, very reasonably priced), and American Eagle polos. I've had great luck with fit as well.

Indeed. It doesn't happen too often, but if you're on their mailing list/have a store credit card, they sometimes send out some really great coupons. The last time I went there (about 4-5 months ago), I got about 200 bucks worth of merchandise for $75. Didn't feel too bad about it, especially since most of their products are fairly high quality in comparison to some other retailers :D

Perry Ellis has a lot of nice polos, DKNY has some really nice no button polos for more casual outings.
I buy fish oil, not snake oil.

Fred Perry polo's are by far the best.. the newer Japanese (I think there Japanese) made ones are the best fitting I find. You can tell these ones apart because they have 3 white/clear buttons no matter what colour style. There a slimmer fit than the older ones. Not the cheapest but not the dearest either. Very working class.

Merc make some nice ones too

Being the preppy that I am, I have a rather extensive history with polo shirts.

Polo (Ralph Lauren) - There's a reason the brand is just called Polo. Pretty much the standard. Also pretty damn generic now that everybody from rappers to pre-teens wear them. I have a bunch that I continue to wear simply because they haven't worn out yet, but I wouldn't buy new ones just because I prefer not to have exactly the same shirt as everyone else.

Abercrombie/Hollister/American Eagle - Sort of like Ed Hardy or Affliction t-shirts... JUST SAY NO.

Lacoste - Expensive. They shrink like crazy. Not really a fan.

UnderArmour - Maybe if you're golfing. Wearing one of these to dinner just advertises a lack of taste.

Express - Subtle (usually not a lot of logos plastered everywhere). I especially like their softer, stretch polos.

Brooks Brothers - American and classic. Expensive, but time it right and you can get some great deals online. A favorite. Also, not as common (a plus).

Vineyard Vines - Much newer, very preppy brand. Expensive. Wearing one of these says you summer on the Vineyard, or at least know what ACK is. Plus, I dig the whale.

J.Crew - Personal favorite. They feel good, they don't have tacky logos all over them, and mine have lasted a very long time. Also, like Brooks Brothers, great deals can be had online.

Enjoy the most versatile shirt out there. And unless you prepped, please, collars down.
Most people are like slinkies: pretty useless, but entertaining if pushed down stairs.
