I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hi everyone

Can anyone describe the Prone Bridges set-up in more details.

Should the ass be high so the back is horizontal or should the body be in a straight line from shoulders to toe?

Thanks in advance

You should keep your back as straight as possible BUT try to keep as straight as possible from head to toe also...as in don't hike your butt way up. Here is a good video linked right from this site. click me

This is for an ab wheel (from http://beastskills.com) but the trunk position is the same. Note the lower back / abdominals positioning; the lower back is not hyperextended:

My arms and shoulders give out before my core does on prone bridges. What am i doing wrong?
Stats:
Bench: 97kg
Squat: 112kg
Deadlift: 117kg
OHP: 55kg
Dips: 40kg
Pull-ups: 22kg

The deadlift is not dead; size is dead without it.

I do them with my elbows and forearms resting on the ground. The key is to use your abs to stabilize your torso to stop it from sagging. When they get too easy from the floor you can try with your legs raised on a chair or exercise ball (which makes you stabilise more).

If you also want to add to the difficulty, put your arms closer together. Your abs will work harder to stabilize your weight.
