I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Thanks guys for the comments, the holiday was sweet as you can imagine, I ate loads, drank nearly every night, swam loads and then ate some more. Hotel had a gym which was nice, although it was full of machines and I don't like machines unless there is a bar there. When i asked the gym guy "Do you have a bar so that I can do deadlifts", he replied "No this room is for weightlifting only" I went back outside and drank more alcohol and chuckled quietly to myself.
Two weeks of sheer bliss.

Where was I...........

5/3/1 Cycle 2
week 1 (Repeat)

19/10/09

Squats

5x77.5kg
5x90kg
5x102.5kg (2)

Squats: 60kg 3x10
Back extensions: 3x10@BW

20/10/09

Bench Press
5x57.5kg
5x67.5kg
5x77.5kg (5)

Kroc Rows: 1x7@30kg 1x6@30kg(LH) 1x7@30kg(RH) 1x5@30kg
Dumbbell Bench Press: 2x10@15kg

22/10/09

Deadlifts
5x100kg
5x117.5kg
5x132.5kg (9)

Front Squats: 3x5@50kg
Back Extensions: 2x10@BW

What a nice week back. Missed reps on the Squat again no big deal for me right now. Two weeks had definitely made me weaker especially on the Bench Press. I'm glad to be lifting. I was starting to miss it in the second week of my holiday. Swimming was good too, although it does not compare to a Deadlift set. Glad to be back under the bar and grimacing once again. The holiday done me good.

Peace. :)

Welcome back, Rere!
Getting right back to your full-on workouts, I see.
5x132.5kg (9)

What does the (9) mean? Five sets of 9 reps? Tried for one set of 5 reps but went for 9 instead?

Glad to see you back under the bar Rere.

KIB, 5-3-1 has 3 pyramid sets of 5 reps in the first week, but you are supposed to go all out & get as many reps on the top set. So Rere got 9 reps in place of 5.

@Kib, as Guru so rightly pointed out I got 9 reps all out. 5 would of been the target. The extra 4 reps is what might be left in the tank. :)
@Atypical1....yeah the Guy had no clue. I drank every night of the two weeks. I need to detox for at least another two weeks!
Thank you everyone for a warm welcome. It definitely is a family vibe going on here :)

Have a nice weekend to you all.

5/3/1 Cycle 2
Week 2

26/10/09

Press:
5x42.5kg
5x50kg
5x55 (3)

Pull-ups: (BW) 8/6/2/3/3/3
Dips:(BW) 10/6/4

27/10/09

Squats:
3x82.5kg
3x95kg
3x107.5kg (2)

Back Extensions: 3x10@(BW)

29/10/09

Bench Press:
3x62.5kg
3x72.5kg
3x80kg (5)

Kroc Rows: 1x10(RH) 1X9(LH) 1X8(RH) 1X7(LH) 1X8(RH) 1X7(LH)
Bench Press: 3x10@47.5kg 10/10/10

Missed reps on the Press nothing new there :?
Second fail at Squats could be time for a deload next cycle if I fail the Squat attempt next week.
Although the Deload cycle should give me a rest, hmmmmm I'll see.
Lost a few pounds while on holiday. I don't drink as much milk either although I may start the milk thing in the new year, give me a body a rest from shitting 8)

I like 5/3/1 I get in and out of the gym. I don't have much time in the gym. Missus get's back late so I have an hour to play with. Things are tight but I gotta make do with what I can squeeze in.
I don't like Squats but I understand they must be done, there is really no excuse for leaving them out.
So bloody hard under the bar with the weight on your back, I do admire the physique the exercise has given me so I don't know why I am complaining :x

Dips funny enough been hurting my shoulders I think my shoulders don't like the volume so I'll decrease somewhat and add weight along with un-weighted.

Roll on next week.

Peace.

You could try the 'not doing jack shit' accessory option. (I love the title of that option ) It might be worth it if time becomes a big issue. I may have to use it when tax season starts in January.

:D Thanks Pagangoddess.

Yeah that option is real quick. So far I just have enough time in the evenings to run out the door when the missus comes from work. It's kinda hard, she knows how dedicated I am to staying fit. I constantly have to remind her of why I lift and show her my training log from time to time. Life really does get in the way of us doing what we like I guess it's just a case of seeing it through till the end.

Tax season  Good luck.
