I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Do you ever get really emotionally charged by getting pissed off, or frustrated, or just something happens that you need to blow off some steam, but you can't go to the gym because it's a rest day.

It always seems the days that I could lift the most due to some emotional trauma are my rest days and it's annoying.

I've always had shit that pisses me off happen on rest days as well. I always think "damnit too bad I don't have to go to the gym in an hour!"

Im usually more angry and scared on workout days!
Stats:
Bench: 97kg
Squat: 112kg
Deadlift: 117kg
OHP: 55kg
Dips: 40kg
Pull-ups: 22kg

The deadlift is not dead; size is dead without it.

Interesting. I find that my time in the gym is my break from all that shit. Once I walk through the doors and get my hands on a barbell nothing else exists in the world. I find it quite calming.

This.

I don't know if calming would be the right word though but I definitely forget about everything else. Usually the only thing I think about is lifting the weight.

You're right, calming may not have been the right word. I think centered would have been a better choice. Weight training does for me what meditating or going to church might do for someone else.

Ya, me too. I tried the "anger" thing, but it's just not in my personality to channel my energy that way. I'm more of a Peaceful Warrior-esque focus guy.
