I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Reverse hypers on swiss ball - adding weight?

My gym doesn't have a reverse hyper machine, so I'm doing them on a swiss ball placed on a bench. I can add a little weight by using chains that I use as incremental weights, but that's only a couple of pounds per leg. Any way to add weight that uses stuff already in a typical gym? My gym bag has enough stuff in it already, I'd rather not carry ankle weights back and forth.

Bands maybe?

it's pretty rare to find a gym with a rh. what's your purpose for doing the rh?

people have built make-shift ones that look like they'd work ok, but i really don't think you'll have much luck doing weighted reverse hypers using a swiss ball. you certainly won't be able to get the supposed spinal flushing effect. if you're just after assist work, you may want to consider just doing hip and/or back extensions, which are a lot easier to do weighted. it's roughly the same thing, minus the supposed prehab effect of a real rh.

i like doing good mornings if i cant find a rh machine. you can start light with just a bar, go low and get a good stretch with the hamstrings.
