I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Current Stats after a little over 2 months of Stronglifts 5x5 Beginner 3 times per week:

Squat 5x5: 315 lb / 142.9 kg
Bench 5x5: 190 lb / 86.3 kg
Press 5x5: 145 lb / 65.8 kg
Deadlift 1x5: 320 lb / 145.3 kg
My weight/height: 240 lb/109 kg and 6'2''/188cm. I don't know what percent of my weight is fat, but it is clearly too much. My wife loves me anyway.

[Yes, I cheated a bit. I did start with some weight and I did increase faster than 5 pounds per session until I could feel that there was some weight on the bar. Then I started the 5 lb increases]

I'm still working on my goals. I'll make that a future post. I just wanted to get the training log started while I had free time.

By way of introduction, the following is a copy (slightly edited) of my "first time here" post.

Lifting heavy again, over decade off. Thanks Mehdi!

I'm enjoying your program very much and I wanted to thank you for all the hard work you clearly put into it.

I read about your Stronglifts 5x5 program at the Bullshido website (I do judo). I chose your plan because it reminded me of how we lifted for college football (American) in the mid-90s and I remember being very strong back then. We used to do different periods of 5x5 and 3x3, etc. After college, I went to professional school, got a dull, cushy office job and lost a ton of strength. I was stronger at age 14 than I was two months ago (in my mid-30s).

I remain far weaker than I was in college, but I have made huge improvements over the last two months.

My weight/height currently: 240 lb/109 kg and 6'2''/188cm. I have put on over 10 lbs in the last 2 months. I hope most of it was muscle, but I'm sure some was fat too. I am having trouble eating the recommended protein without also getting excess calories. It would be easier if I had more time and if I were only cooking for myself.

I'm still moving up in Squat and Deadlift, but bench and overhead press gains are getting more and more difficult. I'll keep working at it.

Thanks again!
