I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Squat - 130 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Overhead - 70 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Deadlift - 165 lbs. 5/
Pull Ups - 3/2/1

Comments: Pull ups were weak this morning. It was mostly mental as I had to use a machine that allows you to do weight assisted pull ups/dips. It is really low to the ground for someone my size, so I didn't start off in my normal hanging position. Like I said, I think it was mostly mental though.

Thursday 6/26/2008

Squat - 135 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Bench - 115 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Rows - 90 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Dips - 6/5/5

Comments: Woohoo!!! Finally made it back to the "big boy" plates. :) I felt really lethargic this morning, which probably contributed to my dropping one dip from last time. Oh well. Next week is another week. I'm off to vacation with the family for four days. The mental rest will do me good.

Wednesday 7/2/2008

Squat - 140 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Overhead - 75 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Deadlift - 175 lbs. 5
Chin Ups - 3/2/2

Comments: Off and running again. Everything felt heavy this morning, but I think it was due to fact that I had to mix up my routine. I did chin ups and overhead first because someone was using the squat rack. She was doing front squats...I think she did about 3000 sets. :x The joys of public gyms....

Friday 7/4/2008

Squat - 145 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Bench - 120 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Rows - 95 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Dips - 6/6/6

Comments: Workout felt great this morning. Felt like I could lift a mountain.

Since it was the 4th of July holiday today in the States I went to the gym later than usual. Man, I won't do that again. All the gym stereotypes were out in the full force today. But I ignored them and just did my work.

Happy 4th of July to everyone!!!

Monday 7/7/2008

Squat - 150 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Overhead - 80 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Deadlift - 185 lbs. 5
Pull Ups - 3/2/2.5

Comments: I know we aren't really supposed to count 1/2 pull ups, but I was just happy to see some progress in that area. All the other weights feel great. Getting heavy, but no sign of stopping soon. :D

I'll see everyone in a week. I'm off for some travel for work. And where I'm headed they don't have any gyms in the area. :(

Thursday 7/17/2008

Squat - 160 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Overhead - 85 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Deadlift - 195 lbs. 5
Chin Ups - 3/3/2

Comments: I was really tired this morning. The bed was feeling really good, but as we've been taught I knew it was better to go to the gym than to sleep in. Weights fell heavy today. I'm guessing it is because I felt so tired. I've been trying to stick closely to the anabolic diet and I also know that the first week on that can be tiring.

One thing I can say for sure. These weights feel heavier than they did the first time I came through this territory. I have been trying to be very strict on my form. It is amazing how much heavier a weight can feel when you don't cheat yourself. :D

Wednesday 7/30/2008

Squat - 170 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Overhead - 90 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Deadlift - 205 lbs. 5
Pull Ups - -/-/-

Comments: Well I'm finally back after a short hiatus. I had a training class out of town last week and unfortunately there wasn't a gym in the area. Overall the workout this morning was good, but I was really really tired and weak. I did all my lifts, but just didn't have it in me to do the pull ups. I was afraid that I was going to pass out if I kept pushing since I already felt light headed after the dead lifts. Hopefully Friday will be a better workout and I will be able to push myself a little harder.

Friday 8/1/2008

Squat - 175 lbs. 5/5/5/5/4
Bench - 135 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Rows - 110 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Dips - -/-/-

Comments: Hit my first ever miss for 5x5. I have to admit I was a little bummed, but I know I will be able to get past it next workout. I could have done the 5th rep on the last set, but my form was really starting to break down and to me the form is much more important than the weight or reps. I skipped dips today due to time constraints.

Monday 8/4/2008

Squat - 175 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Overhead - 95 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Deadlift - 215 lbs. 5
Chin Ups - 2/1/-

Comments: Ok...so Friday was a fluke. Squats were heavy, but no problem getting through the 5 sets while maintaining good form. 200lbs here I come. 175lbs was the first goal after coming back and 200lbs is the next in line. I'm trying to lay out my short goals in about 25lb increments. Seems to be working. Overhead is getting really heavy. I'm guessing this one will be the next miss, but you can never tell.

Wednesday 8/6/2008

Squat - 180 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Bench - 140 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Rows - 115 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Dips - -/-/-

Comments: Well I was able to push past the 175 point without too much issue. The weight was not overly heavy or unbearable. My hip flexor was giving me a bit of a fit this morning. I'm wondering if my form was off a bit. I'll be watching it very closely on Friday. I wasn't able to do dips this morning. There was a group of three people that got to the only dip bars in the gym just before I did. I didn't have enough time to wait for them to finish...unfortunately. I'll hit them hard next time.

Overhead - 100 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5

Pull Ups - 3/2/2

Comments: Nothing special to report. Just a typical day at the gym. Weights are heavy, but doable.

Friday 8/15/2008

Squat - 190 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Bench - 145 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Rows - 120 lbs. 5/5/5/5/5
Dips - 6/5/5

Comments: Almost at 200lb squats! WooHoo!!!! I was really surprised that my dips had not fallen off more than they did. I haven't been able to do them in about 2 weeks due to missing days and time constraints. But surprisingly I only lost 1 rep per set. Not too bad. :)
