    I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. :lol: But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Don't be so hard on yourself. You know what you are doing so just dig in and enjoy the workouts. Consistency is the key....hang in there and it will all fall into place in time.

Enjoy.

Going on the slow-carb diet - let's see. Should I combine this with a Intermittent fast? Also started taking creatine.

Post WO Smoothie - only non fiberous carbs today (banana, blueberries, strawberries)

Slow Carb diet seems to be working, good energy and steady fat loss seems to be happening. I do not know how much because with my love handles, I have a poor caliper reading. The rest of my body is pretty lean, the majority of the fat is around my midsection: belly, handles and lower back - the famous "spare tire". If anyone has any wonder-trick on how to finally get rid of this I would appreciate it. I managed to get rid of my fatty hips and man boobs, but this remains.

24 hour Fasting

Postby Scottymouth » Thu Aug 13, 2009 2:53 pm

OK - So I am doing Mehdi's fasting regimen. I am a little hungry but I feel good - things are clear. I almost feel the toxins leaving, either that or I am hallucinating!

1st Fast completed!

Postby Scottymouth » Fri Aug 14, 2009 12:56 am

I cannot believe the amount of energy I have after fasting for 24 hours. Tomorrow @ 4am I will have breakfast and then lift. Post workout I will run and enjoy my broccoli berry smoothie. I do miss Milk, which I have not been drinking while on the Slow Carb diet. I feel great and am very happy to be back posting on Stronglifts.

Week 2 will be completed tomorrow, FINALLY BACK!

I'm interested to see where this goes Scott. I've never been much of a believer in intermittent fasting; read up on it a lot on some of the low-carb forums but it just doesn't feel right. But if you get the results, well...

@Cleave

It is tougher than I thought - just scheduling it. I was OK with the 24hour fast, and my energy was really high for my workout. I did notice that I gorged myself when it was time to eat, not sure if that is any good. I fell off the wagon, AGAIN, since last week. I plan on being back on track tomorrow. I will start again and see what happens. It was kind of nice to have 2 days where I don't have to plan my food.

We closed on our ReFi last night, so I has many rum and diets and a frozen pizza - today I had chicken wings! WTF is wrong with me? lol

The thing is I am looking to possibly change my profession and go into law enforcement. THINKING of it. So considering I will be one of the older rookies and at 5'7 3/4" I am a lot shorted than all but the italian guys - I need to beef up. Have you gotten to a point that you've added enough muscle that you burned away the fat as mehdi always suggests? He always say that cardio is third on the list and not entirely necessary. I Don't know if I will even get these handles off of my side, but my bouncing back and forth on this diet sure doesn't help.

How have you been? We've talked about summer being difficult - any progress?

It's going better. Now that school is back in I seem to be settling back into my routine as well. Three trips to the gym this week; two for lifting and one cardio and I'm back at it.
