I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I know this prob is somewhat fixed already, but doesn't strengh training and all the benefits it brings actually LIFT sex drive? Or is it just a myth of some sorts?

I don't know if it's a documented fact that working out will increase sex drive. But from experience I would say it does. I think it comes from the fact I feel better/more confident when I've had my time with the iron. That confidence comes through not only in the bedroom but at work and in other relationships.

I do know it's not true for everyone though. A friend of mine has not experienced this and neither has Hubby.

Try taking zinc supplements or eating tons of oysters....
I swear to god, it works!!!

Personally for me though, I'm also pretty tired after working out and usually just reserve sexy-time on off days

All I know is that last week I was on vacation and I was as randy as a ranch rabbit, where the most physical activity I had was boning my missus. Back at the weights this week and I'm less keen. This has a lot to do with the fact that I am working again and have to fit in weights, work, home life and keeping my gf happy in the sack which is a lot more stressful than lying on a beach sipping G&T's.

I definitely haven't noticed any uplift in my desire levels since taking up weights - I used to be a lot more randy beforehand. Might just reflect energy levels generally.
2010 Goals:
Lose the Gut - 6 pack by 11/4/10 - it's a bet with the missus
100kgs clean and jerk by 24/3/10
80kgs snatch by 30/06/10
Be more dedicated

You old romantic you! :D

It could just be the fact that you are tired due to lifting, its pretty hard work doing 3 full bodies a week with squats every session. It could also be using up your T-levels, hence not feeling as... hungry.

Having said that, apparently squatting helps improve blood flow to the legs, etc with useful side effects! So squatting can help you in your old age.

And if you want to know what a drought is like, try having 1 year old twins to look after!

Don' t look to use training etc.. as an excuse. If both you and you're GF lack the drive, the problem lies in the relationship

Try to make an effort to get the passion back, go away for a dirty weekend, role play, shower together etc..

I've been there, in a more or less sexless relationship and it sucks big time:( Every time I tried to talk with her about it she became mad at me, so I stopped. I also stopped taking the initative to have sex, being rejected sexually time after time is a real downer. Slowly my romantic feelings for her died until I broke up with her 2 months ago. We had been together for a little over 2 years. Sex and intimacy is important!

Now I'm single and have just started SL5x5 - yeay for me! :D

I'll be honest. My drive has dropped considerably. Maybe not dropped, but it's more like I can turn it on and turn it off when I want. It's like I don't need it all the time to make me happy, adn it certainly doesn't govern how I relate to women anymore. I feel more content and confident with myself as a man. Just my 2 cents...

Hi all

Have a read of this article, especially the 3rd post by Wotan.

This is a protocol for taking L-Glutamine in a morning to induce a HGH spike, it also has the added side effect of increasing libido.

Testosterone levels??
Check this article out...
http://www.musclesweb.net/blog/deadlifts-squats-increase-testosterone-levels/
It says in there "If anything, it looks to be long term weight training, is more likely to cause lower testosterone levels than higher levels, if you don’t take a break from training every few weeks and watch workout volume."
But yet again, this is only 1 article.

I am simply just showing what I found about this ^^
The idea is to die young as late as possible.

i know this is a very overdue reply and you've most likely got it sorted.
but if your onm a calorie deficiency, a sure sign is a lacking sex drive.
i found this out from personal experience, its a good way of seeing if your eating enough :)

You probably don't need my 0.02c worth but (1) don't let "it" (not necessarily full sex but the sensual thing) drop off - its a slope that quickly becomes steep; and (2) don't discount the non-spontanenious well planned session - it can give both of you something to look forward to and it ensures you do "it" (and it can vary).

Take some advice from an old man who has seen some things.

Cheers

1) If your losing fat recently, its could be your body reacting to lesser calories and that's what's making you tired.

2) I'm doing a LOT of reading between the lines on this next bit but here goes...your GF went back to Canada ? Do you think the break from each other could have resulted in a loss if intimacy/trust? Maybe causing distance. Was there any stress (arguments/resentment) involved. Were you guys thinking "If one of us is in Canada then there's no grounds for a continuing relationship".

3) Do you still feel horny enough to masturbate with the same frequency? If so , its not your sex drive, you could be avoiding her, or vice versa.

4) Buy some sex toys and bang each others brains out....
