I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. :lol: But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hmm, odd one this. My sex drive has always been pretty high. Now it's virtually non existant. I'm wondering whether it's anything to do with the weights, nutrition etc as I'm just too tired to be interested by the time I go to bed with the missus. I'm still fine on saturday mornings etc after a lie in, just the rest of the week I don't have the interest any more. My gf also went through a period of having a lower sex drive than normal due to stress at work, which has coincided with my dropoff (luckily or not, I don't know) so I've thought it may just be a response to her lack of interest, but I want to sort it out anyway. I'm 29, following the sl5x5 routine. Diet mon-thurs is 3 egg cheese ommellete breakfast, salad plus 3 chicken legs lunch, vegetables and 500grams meat dinner. Fri-Sun I eat what I like within reason - normally eating out and drinking. I've lost some fat recently which is good, and the sex drive reduced before that anyway.

Any thoughts or tips would be gratefully received...

Well, you are quite old to be fair mate. Your nob drive doesn't last forever... Have you also noticed grey hairs appearing?

To be honest I wouldn't expect diet and exercise to directly affect the old drive in a big way, but tiredness can be a factor. Anyone who's had children can probably attest to this. I don't personally think that lowering the frequency is a major problem, as long as it doesn't stop altogether when the two of you really want it to continue.

I would show you my certificates in bonkology but I don't have any, so this is just my 1.45 pence worth.

Hahaha cheers Mark! No grey hairs yet pal, I'm sprightly for my age you know...

We do both want to, but I don't want to be in the situation where we plan it out - I'd rather it was more spontaneous. I just don't seem to be as randy as I used to be.... which is very, very odd.I wondered whether anyone else had got the same problem. It used to be the case that you'd have to chuck a bucket of cold water over me to dampen my enthusiasm......... and that didn't work either ;)

That sucks. Is there anyway to schedule one before you see the missus? I find that a good triple-X throw down will open the flood gates again. I guess it reminds you both how good it can be. If not, dry spells happen. You just need to find a way to get through them.

Well, worrying about certainly has the effect of worsening it. So don't. (And don't worry about worrying about it either ;) )

Maybe avoid even doing it on saturday night, let it "build".

How long have you and the GF been together? You may be getting passed the "honeymoon" phase. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

About 18 months. I think it started when she had to go back to
Canada for a bit. She sort of lost interest. Well, not lost interest but more stopped being as randy. That had a knock on effect with me i suppose. Now she's back and is more settled I think it'll pick up... She was in the mood this morning after all ;)

I wouldn't worry about it too much Neil. It sounds like you've figured it out. With her going away and coming back I can understand the interruption.

Ahhh, morning sex. I miss it. My daughter gets up way too early for hubby and I to get away with it. Oh well, we make up for it in other ways. :mrgreen:

I don't think it's just that, but the fact that we both recognise we need to make more effort is good. It's good to get things heading back to normal! Luckily I don't have any kiddies to get in the way of things too!!!

Don' t look to use training etc.. as an excuse. If both you and you're GF lack the drive, the problem lies in the relationship

Try to make an effort to get the passion back, go away for a dirty weekend, role play, shower together etc..

Thanks - I actually completely agree with you. I'm sure it waxes and wanes just like other things in life, but it needed both of us to make more effort with one another. She's taken the lead on this to a certain extent which has been great, but I'm also planning to do stuff for her too. And like many other posters have suggested - worrying about things is the worst thing you can do...

also, this happens in 90% of relationships at some stage or another

Analogy: If you've no motivation to go to the gym and miss a few sessions/weeks, do you dislike training and pack it in altogether?? of course not, you've just lost your way slightly. So you reevaluate yore goals, pick yourself up, get back to the iron and come back stronger than ever.
