I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Should i be on gomad?

Postby Rabs on Fri Oct 23, 2009 2:58 am

hi im just wondering if i should be trying to gain weight.
i am 5'5" and i weigh 140lbs does this sound reasonable?
im just finding it hard to progress on some of my lifts and i thought maybe it has to do with my weight.

Current lifts are:
Squat: 180lbs
Deadlift: 185lbs
Bench: 140lbs
OHP: 75lbs
Hang clean: 80lbs

thanks in advance

Try to just keep eating properly, and start GOMAD when your weights get higher. I'm pretty much the same size as you (5'5", 135 lbs), and I'm a pretty small guy, but if you keep trying and get that weight up there, you'll be able to make much more gains when you do GOMAD (higher weights, more stress on body, more response). I kinda just started GOMAD, well, not really, since I only do like 3/4 a gallon, and some days I just don't drink milk at all (dont get a chance to buy milk). But soon enough, I'm gonna try to just do the solid diet, with no variation hopefully. Either way, with what I've been doing, I feel like I've been making some gains, though nothing really extremely noticeable, so for right now, just keep eating, getting fairly good amount of calories, sleeping right, and start a full GOMAD at higher weights. Hope this helps... and most of these other guys can prolly give a better answer than me =P

Both you and the General should be on GOMAD.
