I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Simple Keto????

Postby irontiger on Fri Oct 16, 2009 11:58 pm

im trying to do a keto but keeping it uber simple the reason being work dictates my life as i barely have breaks and travel an 1hr to and from work. Now im wanting to know if i was to plan a diet concentrating on meals around workouts then just making one big salad to snack whilst at work then having somethng like casein before bed would yiled good results??

What is the purpose of the diet? What is your age, weight, height, training history/current regime?

By "do a keto" do you mean force your body into ketosis?

If I were you, I'd commit fully to a clinical ketosis diet or just stick with general low carb healthy eating.

What resources are available at work? Refrigerator? Microwave? Sink?

Well I'm on the Anabolic Diet and all I use at work is the fridge.

I get up 10 minutes earlier and prepare an omelette in that time, which I take to work to eat at my desk. For lunch, each monday I purchase a bag full of baby spinach, a vine of truss tomatos and a block of feta cheese. I then store these things in the fridge at work, taking them out and dicing one tomato and breaking up about 80g of feta and mixing through a handfull of spinach. I then open a 425g can of tuna, which I keep refrigerated and splt over 3 days.

Sometimes I fry extra chicken if I'm having some for dinner and bring that in to replace tuna, sometimes I buy different salad ingredients.

I also keep a few different blocks of cheeses in the fridge and some bags of nuts at my desk for snacks.

You CAN manage the anabolic diet at work with just a fridge, it just requires some planning and organisation.

Depends on what is in your salad. If you are trying to eat 3000kcal a day and you have only eaten 500kcal or less by the time you get home, you are going to stuff 1000kcal+ meals down your throat within a couple of hours of each other and your body will unlikely be able to process all that energy in that time.

Put a hamburger patty in your salad with some lemon juice, olive oil, S&P. Boiled eggs are the ultimate portable AD snack, right up there with string cheese, but the packaging is biodegradable.
