    I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. :lol: But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Having a protruding belly is the same thing as having an apple shaped body. The signal is having a higher proportion of your body fat stored as abdominal fat than a normal person. You can be skinny and have prediabetes and you can be fat and not have it. The real sign of whether you have it or not is the proportion of you fat stored in the belly.

Labeling someone with a condition doesn't fix his problem. And it scares people off and can give them excuses. Are you doing it to help him or do you want to prove something?

Let's focus on the solution. Cut your carbs, eat whole foods, get stronger.

Yes I gave the solution in my first post but I was just defending myself from people who responded saying there is no possible way I could know that.

The problem is carbs. Solution is cutting them. Easy.

wait, so if I am doing GOMAD (currently at half a gallon a day), should I stop? There is quite a bit of carbs (12g/cup) in whole milk, right?

From what I read on this forum the extra belly-fat you will gain from increasing food intake should easily go away if you keep your metabolism high by doing strength training.

At first i focused on increasing my weight (skinny ectomorph type) and it gave me a bigger belly and love handles - it all goes away when the weights get heavy so i don't really worry about that anymore :)

Another thing to look at is your posture. Weak hamstrings and glutes can cause your pelvis to rotate forward, giving you an exaggerated curve in your lower back, and causing your gut to stick out.

The cure, as always, is to squat more. Also, read up on lordosis... if that condition describes your posture, there are some exercises and stretches you can add to your program to help it go away.
BW = 180LB
Squat = 210LB
DL = 110KG
BP = 155LB
OHP = 110LB
HPC = 65KG
