I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hey, this is my first try at seriously getting into shape. I've never been an athlete. I've never really cared to take too much care of my body before. I think it's past time I start trying in my life though. Time for me to stop being so inconsequential in my own life.

I'm working pretty much on my own and this site and the sherdog.com forums are pretty much the only info I got on this. Anyways my first log:

8/11/08
Warm-up:
Mehdi's seven hip mobility exercises: 1x10 each.
Shoulder Dislocation:
3x10

Squats:
2x5 0 kg
1x5 20 kg
5x5 50 kg

Bench:
2x5 0 kg
1x5 20 kg
5x5 45 kg

Barbell Rows:
1x5 0 kg
5x5 30 kg

Dips 12, 9, 5

Notes: I think I'm probably taking too much time between sets and exercises. I put a couple of.. weights under the weights on the barbell rows as suggested so that the bar won't be too low. I'm still not very confident in my form in any of these exercises, especially the barbell row. Oh well. I'm not gonna post any hard goals right now because I just don't know what's realistic yet. I just plan on progressing like Mehdi suggests in the program.

Supplements: I just got protein right now. I've also got a liquid multivitamin in the mail hopefully and some fish oil capsules.

Stretches today:
3x10 Shoulder dislocation
1x10 hip mobility stretches
1x10 in 4 of the glute activation stretches. I'll do more when I'm more confident in my form.
2x10 wall squats. I definitely need to do more of these. Apparently, I've been leaning way too far forward.

All right, I have some goals now.
Short term: I want to be confident (and correct) in all my forms of the SL 5x5 exercises, and the hip mobility and glute activation stretches.
Long term: I want to squat 1.5x my weight and deadlift 2x my weight by the end of the year.

Started off with the dynamic stretches:
3x10 shoulder dislocations
1x10 all seven hip mobility stretches
1x10 glute activation stretches
then the ankle mobility stretches.
2x10 wall squats.

I know I didn't include the weight of the bar in my first post, but I am now.
Squats:
3x5 20 kg
2x5 30 kg
5x5 62.5 kg

OHP:
3x5 20 kg
1x5 30 kg
5x5 40 kg

DL:
1x5 60 kg
1x5 95 kg

Pull up:
3, 3, 2.5
Notes: Didn't really feel too good today. I'm getting more paranoid about my form. I have a few concerns which I'll voice in a different thread.
