I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

To Mehdi, Mods & forum members..

I think it would be great to have a sports section to discuss training for sports & fitness, this can include football, american football, running, swimming, endurance, and that sort of thing. I think you get the idea?

Training for strength & health is what the programme is about right? I think everyone here is interested in getting fitter & weight lifting is only half of it right?

People want to jump higher to dunk hoops, get powerful legs for explosive track running, get lean strong body for climbing. develop endurance/ aerobic efficency for road cycling. etc..

I think most people are hesitant to post this kind of stuff in the other forums but I think most people have sports for which they hope to use their 'stronglifts' strength? Plus people could share tips for general speed & fitness for those not into a particular sport?

What you think folks?

Well these discussions fit in the strength training category: whether building muscle/losing fat or getting stronger is the goal, strength training is always the tool.

It's easy to get like 40 different categories after a while. I think there's already plenty right now.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

But things like interval training, cardio and aerobic endurance etc sont really have anything to do with strength.

Perhaps rename the strength category to be dual prupose?

rename to what? Offer solutions directly, don't hold back ;)

cardio is meant to be in fat loss, since that's what most people will do cardio for. This is in the first place "building muscle & losing fat through strength training", specific endurance stuff is a bit off topic.

it's important also to realise the limitations of the forum. While stronglifts is awesome in a wide range of areas, for serious sports specific advice and discussion, you will do better in a sports specific forum.
