I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hi This is Pal. I am doing stronglifts for last two months. Body Weight = 155lbs.
Squatting = 180lbs, deadlift = 210lbs, bench press= 120lbs, overhead press = 100lbs.

I can see difference in my body. Fat has got reduced and am building muscle. But my thighs, glutes and hamstrings remain the same.
I am doing full squatting getting my hips down below the knees. But, I cant see any difference.

I dont know where am I going wrong?
Can any one explain me why?

Thanks in advance.
Pal.

Hi Pal. My guess is you're not doing anything wrong (I don't know about your form on lifts, but it's pretty irrelevant for your question).
You've only been doing this for two months. You're seeing progress, you should be excited. Stick with it, keep increasing weights and eat enough and your body will change. Also, don't trust the mirror. If your butt loses fat and gains muscle when you're about 15-20% bodyfat it'll look the same.
Measure bodyfat and sizes if you really want to track progress on your body.

Well, I don't know your your body stats or age, but say you're 6' tall. If you're 6' tall and 155lbs you would be very skinny, and therefore wouldn't gain much muscular mass. If you're not eating enough, you won't grow.

How tall are you?

Thanks for the response.

@ Luco: Yes u may be right because I am little inconsistent with nutrition. I am at the most taking 70gms of protein a day. Also in these 2 months i can see the reduction only in body fat and getting in shape. my weight doesn't increase more than 155lbs.

@ jakemcmillan: I am 5' 9" tall and 24yrs old.

It's pretty obvious what's your problem then isn't it.. You're getting 70 grams of protein a day. This should be at least 160. Also aim for about 2800-3000 kcal a day minimum when you're trying to gain weight.

I'm also assuming that you're a man by the way.

If you are a man, 5'9" at 155lbs is still skinny. Aim for 165lbs at least. You probably have a skinny+fat look(skinny arms and legs, but some extra body fat.)

Apply stronglift's 8 nutrition rules http://stronglifts.com/nutrition-101-de ... nutrition/

Nutrition is your setback. As the saying goes: strength is built in the gym, body is built in the kitchen....something like that.

Sounds definitely like nutrition. I'm 5' 3" or 5' 4" if I'm in the right mood and I fluctuate between 155lbs-160lbs. I can't imagine being 5' 9" and weighing 155lbs! At 5' 9" I'd want to be a solid brick of 200lbs. As Johnny Pain said somewhere, "Go eat people!" (you can fill in the punctuation as you wish).

Happy lifting (and eating)! :)
