I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

^ $500 might be doable in a year. I'll save up. The barbells look nice as well. Let me know how you like those bumpers.

Didn't want to incorporate any major band work while I am in deload phase but did I try them out with band-resisted push-ups and behind-the-neck pull-aparts. I also tried them with shoulder dislocations. I liked these more than using a broomstick. You can use a narrower grip but if it becomes difficult to complete the movement, you can use a little force to pull the band apart. It also allows your wrists to rotate at angles that seem to me to provide more comfort but yet a great stretch.

the iron woody 20" bands work well for deadlifts.

Stand on the band, then put the band over the bar, and finally stand on the other side of the band. Easy.

20" bands are fine for bench and squat too.

40" bands for squats and deads are best used doubled. The middle of the band is secured to the floor (usually a power rack that is secured or some attachment) and both ends wrapped around the bar.

Band work is great. Do not be afraid of using plenty of band tension.

Good timing on the post. I didn't really stick with the band work late last year. It seemed to make my workout take a little longer for the setup. I am doing Texas Method now and may introduce it every pther week for 1 workout.

Now I see why the new post to this topic. Mehdi posted a new blog entry.

Looks like the best way to incorporate bands in the Texas Method is to do them as part of the speed sets can be done on the Low Volume/High Intensity day instead of single sets of 5.
