I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Original thread here: stronglifts.com/forum/discussion/664/
Several readers have asked for StrongLifts.com merchandising, more specifically T-shirts and a print version of the eBook. Print version of the eBook is not for now, as I believe the current version doesn't earn a print version yet. However we can start with t-shirts. What we need:

  • Logo. I'm not a designer. Unless someone has the skills & wants to do this for free, we have to hire someone.

  • Tagline. You've already suggested taglines. I'll list them below. We could offer t-shirts with & without taglines.

  • Color. Black, navy blue & white work best and are timeless colors (tell me what you think).

  • Making the T-shirt. Readers have recommended cafepress.com, if someone has better ideas, feel free to share.

  • Payments & Shipping. Both will be handled by cafepress.

First thing is the logo. 99designs offers logo contests. Unless someone has a better idea, I'll start a logo contest there for a prize of 300$. Several logo's will be made, you vote for the one you like the most, I'll make the final decision.
You can make your donation to fund the creation of a logo for StrongLifts.com using the following link (paypal, visa, mastercard). Any amount is appreciated.
Click here to make a donation to fund the logo creation

When enough money has been collected I'll start the contest, then post the link so you can vote for the logos.

Some taglines I picked up from the previous thread. These are unfiltered yet, I'll make sure to offer t-shirts without taglines too. Some taglines are aggressive, I will eventually choose taglines that fit with the blog's philosophy.

StrongLifts.com T-shirts & More

Postby JonHarris40 » Fri Feb 29, 2008 1:27 am

Before this thread blows up I will put in my two cents.
I am not a desinger either but of the taglines suggested in the other thread I like the ones that have stronglifts.com 5x5 on the front with a barbell above or below it. Then on the back I like 3: the Rollins quote (my favorite), "barbell goes here", and "Follow the line of most resistance".
As for color I like Black navy Blue and White.
Thats my take, either way I will definately get at least 3 when they come out so I can use one in each sessison each week.

I think there should be a tagline that mentions the squat, although barbell goes here does that pretty well.

Great idea putting it on 99designs!
I am a graphic designer, and would love to have the opportunity to design against others for the new stronglifts branding.

Shutup and squat should be on the front, and barbell goes here should go across the shoulder blades, with a large logo under it.

I like this idea best too.  Just my 2 cents.  I'll vote when it's time.
