I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

emez ■ 84kg ■ (115kg squat + 75kg bench + 134kg dead) ■ 324kg

increased all lifts (still all 3x5 except dead), increased BW.

won't be squatting or benching for while: I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to kyphosis, mjh.

It just occurred to me... if this is supposed to be STRONGLIFTS Olympics, so why not have ALL the main lifts everyone does in SL contributing towards each tally? This would make it a little more unique to the forum (and program) and veer away from power lifting ranking for a change! I just feel sorry for the press being discriminated against all the time :( :P

I second that, i would love to see the OHP in here.

I think IR/Barbell Rows/Power Cleans would be problematic however as these vary between individuals as to what they are doing.

We might have to have a leaderboard for every lift if we have a load more lifts. Although this might make it better because we aren't just competing for one gold medal. I do like the idea of having events like:-

Powerlift
Squat
Bench Press
Deadlift
OHP

This might save us the trouble of averaging scores, but it could overcrowd and overcomplicate this thread and make it easier to start 4 new threads where we end up having olympic and non-olympic challenges.

I'd like to enter for Asia as they could do with bumping up!

DarkShadow ■ 76kg ■ (125KG + 75 KG + 100KG) ■ 300kg

These are my 5x5's.

For my bench and DL I've reassessed the form so I've come down . . especially for DL as I was at the 160kg mark. By end of the year I'll attempt 1RM's so it should rack up the figures nicely.

Still haven't tested my maxes, but I've increased my work weights steadily:

joesterizer ■ 84kg ■ (111kg + 93kg + 135kg) ■ 339

My BW went up a kg, but my lifts went up a whole lot more than that! Hopefully my wilks score will stop dragging canada down so bad.

As I have finished the first 12 week of SL I decided that week 13 was 1rm-week.

re: Vlad's point about bodyweight. I don't intend to act as policeman regarding changes in weight and the implications that has for your lifts, so I'll just ask everyone to act in good faith when reporting your new stats. If you post a reduction in BW, please consider how your max is represented. If your max was set some time ago at a higher body weight, please give some thought to what you can really claim as a max. As I said, I'm sure everyone will act in good faith.

re: the OHP and other "events". Great idea, for the olympics to be a multi-event thing combining a bunch of different lifts or lift combos. But frankly I don't have the time or the energy to set it up or run it right now. It's worth discussing, though, maybe we can set it up for next year.

@ veritas: nice lifts mate!

@ joe and emez: same bodyweight, same total, same wilks. Might be ripe for a death-match.

I agree that 1RMs should reflect the body weight they were achieved at. If you have lost weight and believe you can still lift the same (or more), set another 1RM.

I was one of many people who submitted a weight change with my last set of lift updates, despite the lifts being achieved before I lost the weight. Like it did with me, I think it just slips our minds due to the excitement of losing some fat!

This just means next time we shoot for new 1RMs, our weight will be considerably lower, rather than half a kilo or so, which will have a more exciting impact on our Wilks scores so long as we can lift the same as before. Considering we are losing fat and not muscle (presumably), we should be able to achieve this!

MJH, I agree with and respect your stance on keeping this Olympics simple. I do, however, look forward to a new more diverse event in the future! Cheers for all the effort put into this and all the other challenges!

Of course I agree with Vlad's original point, I don't see how you can calculate a Wilks coefficient for someone who did their max squat @ 65kg, their max deadlift @ 70kg and their max Bench @ 75kg. The only thing you can do is redo all your 1RMs whenever you post a new weight.

Hello

namaste ■ 88kg ■ (127.5KG + 107.5KG + 162.5KG) ■ 397.5KG

My 1RM dead is actually 165KG, but I attempted it again and couldn't get it off the ground, so it can't really count.

Thanks!

Just came to see how things are going in the SL Oly world and come to find out I'm part of a whole new competition!

I'm all for it, but I'm not squatting or benching atm so I'm at a bit of a disadvantage. Maybe some different lifts for our deathmatch, joe? I'm all for you vs. me in front squat/OHP/dead.
