I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I think the fairest way to declare new body weights and lift numbers is to do them all at once - on the same day. This way there is no descrepancy bewteen the body weight each lift was achieved at. It will also encourage people to continue training in a well rounded manner in order to continue improving on all lifts.

Right now I could add 7.5kg to my total score by only choosing to update my new bench 1RM, but I'd be only telling a fraction of the truth because on the same day I set that record, I lost 30kg worth of squat and deadlift due to being at a lower body weight and out of practice.

Vlad, as always you bring mathematically objective ideas to the table. Do you have any suggestions as to how to present the competition were it to adopt a coefficient measure?

One suggestion is to calculate the Wilks individually for each of the lifts and add them together to give a total Wilks score. It may or may not be the same as taking a Wilks of the total but it provides consistency. You can also allow women to compete with mean using Wilks because it compensates for gender.

Cleaned up the list. If your log hasn't been updated during the last 2 months, you're no more on the list.

Wilks formula is distributive (mathematically speaking), or in other words: Wilks of the total is equal to the sum of the Wilks's for the individual lifts.

I would suggest to keep it simple and just add the Wilks scores after the totals in the current competition table, and then we could also indicate the first three stongest for BW people in the same way as the absolute strongest man is indicated.

I think if a person lifted on several occasions with a different BW, one could still calculate the total, but for BW one should report the heaviest BW.

I think it is OK for you, Dylanamus, to update your bench, but the BW should not be updated to your current and much lower BW, unless you retest all of your maxes.

BW 75kg
5RM squat 130kg
95kg BP
170kg deadlift (done 160 off of a block so this is an assumption)
westsider-s-training-log-t19070.html
When is the deadline for the strength tests?
I think videos should be uploaded if possible?
Current 1RM: Squat 140kg, 100kg Bench Press, 180kg deadlift.

Deadline is Dec 31st.
No assumptions, you should only list real lifts.

There are no deadlines here. This is not the Olympics thread where the deadline is dec 31.

BTW, assumptions are not allowed.

Im against videos as not all of us have that facility, and some gyms also ban it. I think using logs as evidence is fine, at the end of the day anyone spending 12+months writing a fake work out log is seriously deranged - and i think its nice to have an element of trust anyway, this is for fun afterall

BW 75kg
130kg squat 5RM
95kg close grip BP
160kg deadlift with me standing on a block.

The bench press and the deadlift records I have are harder than the lifts themselves so I think they are acceptable. Besides I have never actually maxed out in all 3 at once.
Current 1RM: Squat 140kg, 100kg Bench Press, 180kg deadlift.

Goals: Squat 150kg, 110kg Bench Press, 200kg deadlift.

Hey folks, before updating, you may want to check the front page directions again. We've added in the Wilks total, and are listing the top three by both raw total and Wilks total now.
