I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hey folks,

I have been reading the blogs for a while now and decided to do stronglifts5x5. I'm going to do the original stronglifts routine and have already done 1 workout.
I train since March this year and turned 17 last week. I began training with barbells and dumbbells since April/June or so. I have done split routines but also full body workouts. When I first started training I weighted 60 kg (skinnyyyy)
I've already become a bit bigger but, we'll want to get more bigger and stronger right :D

These are my current stats:

Squats: 100kg 5x5
Deadlift: 130kg 1x5
Benchpress: 70 kg 5x5
BOR: 60 kg 5x5
Dips: 12 reps
Overhead Press: I don't know yet. I remember doing clean and press with 65 kilo for 2 reps. Im gonna find out tomorrow.
Pull/chin Ups: 10/12 reps
BW: 74 kg

I'm planning to update the log every week or so.

Friday:
Squat: 100 kg 5x5
Bench Press: 75 kg 2x5 then 70 for 3x5
BOR: 60 kg 5x5
Dips: 12,10,8

Monday:
Squat:
OH Press:
Deadlift:
Pull Ups:

let's see how much I can lift :D
see ya

Today's workout went quite well :) did the job in 45 mins.
And all my lifts went up!

Here are the results:
Squat:105 KG 4x5 (wanted to spare my legs for wednesday and friday because im used to squating and deadlifting both 1 time a week)
OH Press: 50 KG 5x5
Deadlift: 135 KG 1x5
Pull Ups: 7/5/5

I'm happy and can't wait for wednesday.

Nice work dude - welcome to SL5x5!

You have very similar stats to me so it'll be interesting to track our progress. I'm 75kg with a 5rm squat of 105kg.

Best of luck.

Welcome and good luck with hitting your goals! Don't "spare you legs for Wed and Fri" going forward after this week. Most people aren't used to squatting 3x a week but you'll adapt if you stick with it. If you hold back to spare yourself, it will slow you down in your progress bigtime. Also, I noticed you dropped the weight on your bench on that Friday workout. Don't do that either, keep it at one weight. If you fail the reps then try to get more reps next time but don't lower the weight like that or it will also slow your progress.

No problem. Also, it's in the FAQ: http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5- ... ogram-faq/

I missed reps on the last 2 sets. Should I decrease the weight to get 5×5?
Never decrease the weight. Do your 5 sets aiming for 5 reps on each set. Keep track of the number of achieved reps in your training journal.

Use the same weight the next workout & try to get 5×5 or at least more reps than the previous workout. If you don’t get 5×5 for 3 workouts using the same weight, deload. If you get the 5×5: increase the weight the next workout.

It is also talked about in this FAQ (slightly different). stronglifts-5x5-official-faq-t11443-15.html

i think im gonna switch my monday workout to tuesday because I didn't have any sleep last night (party) so its probably gonna suck anyways. and then i do my workout on friday and then return back to 3 times a week again or something like that.
i know its dumb to party that long but what the hell it was fun and shit happens (sometimes).

what would you do??

cheers
